You will be amazed at what type of drivers that will gun it to merge on the highway at the light. I have had Prius owners floor it at the light, no lie.
However, some owners do not floor it as well including sport car drivers. You never know really until the light turns green.
But, yeah a few large luxury boat(S and 7 series) drivers will floor it to merge. Hell, I would if I owned a twin turbo V8.
I am sure that some of the cars that I have beaten to merge would kill me on dragstrip with the launch control engaged, however on the street they underestimate the Genesis and see an easy pass. When they see my car rear end and the 5.0 badge; it is too late and the race is over. Surprise has been my secret weapon most of the time.
I do love the Lexus GS F, very fast sleeper as well.
The 2015 Genesis 5.0 only have Sport, not a Sport+ mode. I average 21 mpg with the car in ECO mode and with the Sprint Booster engaged in the Race 9 setting. I always keep the Sprint Booster turned on and the car in ECO mode. I only select Sport mode to have some fun on curvy roads. I will just get a lot of wheel spin if I tried to just mash the pedal from a stand still in Sport mode with the Sprint Booster engaged and it is very hard to moderate the gas pedal in traffic in Sport mode with the Sprint Booster engaged. Best to use Sport mode and the Sprint Booster on the open road.
Note: Most Scat pack owners only can do a 0-60mph pass in about 5 seconds due to traction issues on the street. So I bet the race would be equal or in my favor. HP means nothing in a race if you cannot put it to the ground without spinning the tires.
