  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Ok so its be a while since my original post on my car shutting down at 4500 rpm's at hard acceleration or gradual roll to 4500. The fuel lines they ordered finally came in and were installed today. I am pleased to say that was the fix. Tech stated he could barely get any air to blow through old lines. The parts replaced were 31301-B1150 and 31310-B1000.
So for all V8 owners whose wives drive the car most of the time you may want to occasionally check hard acceleration past 4500-5000 every now and then. The car ran perfectly in normal driving with no codes reporting and my wife had no clue anything was wrong. I discovered this while trying to pass on a two lane road. :):)

Good to know. Glad the issue was easily corrected and thanks for the update!

Glad you got it fixed. Do you know what was wrong with the lines; manufacturing defect, "kinked" in assembly, stopped up ???

Was not a visible defect. Tech thought manufacturing defect. Could have also been trash in fuel but unlikely. I am sooo glad that was the fix. I was kinda worried with it not reporting any errors.

gotta give it up to hyundai, tbese cars were built to last.....unlike bmw and benz. this DH is a heck of a car and the engineering team behind it built it with passion and reliability.

I will soon get another one when it takes a hit in depreciation in about a year.

So, it ends up that this is happening to mine as well. Didn't even notice because I rarely, if ever go above 4500rpm. I would really recommend that others test this too, the only way I noticed is by checking this forum. Since going over 4500rpm on an 8speed is pretty rare when it happens you might just write it off. Headed to the shop on Monday to fix, hope it doesn't take forever.

Confusedman don't be surprised if the fuel lines take 3 to 4 weeks to get. The good news is that the car was deemed safe to operate by my tech in Fl. I drove the car till parts came in instead of driving the Accent rental and repair was done in one day. I listed parts in original post. Good Luck

Thanks for recommending that. Depending what they've got in the stable, I'll make a call based on that :)

mth I see that you're in Tampa FL. what dealer do you goto to get service? I just purchased a used 2015 Genesis 5.0 with the ultimate package and was looking for a good service center. I'm also looking to update the nav or the complete head unit software, any ideas?
