I was just reading the TSBs about ATF in the TSB section of this group.
I noticed that the new V6 Genesis Coupe must not be using the same Automatic Transmission that the V6 Sedan uses. We know that the V8 Sedan uses a ZF Transmission and the V6 Sedan uses an Aisin Transmission.
In reading TSB 08-AT-005 which is for the V6 Sedan (Aisin), it uses the NWS 9638 Full Synthetic "T-5" ATF, which can also be purchased at Toyota and Lexus Dealers.
In reading TSB 09-AT-001 which is for the V6 Coupe (unknown Transmission) and V8 Sedan (ZF) Transmission, both transmissions use the "Lifeguardfluid6 ATF Shell M.1375.4" which can also be purchased at BMW Dealers.
I could be wrong, but it sounds to me like the Coupe also uses the ZF. Perhaps the Aisin is not strong enough for the power the Coupe has. Don't know.
