  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I have a white satin pearl V6 Tech with a cashmere/saddle interior. My dealer, Douglas at the Santa Ana Auto Mall, CA, told me that there had been problems matching the paint finish between the metal and plastic parts, but that had been fixed. Furthermore, he claimed there were only eight white models in the US: four on the west coast, and four on the east. The paint finish on mine is excellent, with no discernible difference between the metal and plastic parts. I'm very, very happy with it! :D

My dealer mentioned that the Satin V8 would be very hard to come by initially. To ensure this wasn't just a line to get me to buy what he had, I waited for two months checking inventory in throughout Florida. Though the Satin White was available in the V6, he was right on concerning the V8. Because I liked the color so much, I leased a Satin White Pearl V6 Tech Pack for two years hoping that by the time the lease matures the 5 liter V8 will be available.

The rationale behind my decision: Though I loved the power of the V8, I could only experience that power on the open road, while the color of the vehicle can be appreciated even when standing still.

I leased a Satin Pearl White V-6 Tech with a cashmere interior here in San Diego. In my opinion, this was THE best color combination after seeing several of the others. The pearl effect is stunning.

There's a Satin Pearl arriving today at Pugi (Chicago area). 4.6 w/Tech, though I don't know the interior color.
How do I know? Because my Black/Black 4.6 w/Tech that I leased on Saturday arrives today too! (Though I'll probably take delivery on Wed.)

Btw, the only mod I plan on is adding skis. A V8 rear-wheeler has me VERY nervous about winter driving. That's why the 4.6: I'm hoping the limited slip differential will help a bit. That, and the multi-piston brakes. Oh... and the better leather.

Welcome aboard! Thank you for signing up and congratulations on your new Hyundai Genesis! Another V8. Cool! As for driving in the snow, check this out...

Thanks for the welcome, HG, and the link. I'm hoping to avoid snow tires, especially for a leased car... though I might have to bite the bullet.

I'm hoping the Montreal early-adapter will report on his experience. I recall him having the same worries.

Sweet. We have 3 of them. :)

Limited slip helps move you forward, but it will hinder handling in super-slippery conditions. Rather than one wheel spinning and sliding and the other staying "stuck" to the ground, they both spin. BUT, this is what ESC is for! It's a great system and as long as you don't over-drive the conditions, you'll be just fine.

Thanks for the encouraging words re ESC. Coming out of a 4Motion Passat for the last 6 years, that's sweet to hear.
I just have to learn how to drive again...
