  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

V8 leather seats, easily stretched?

Wow...you have a friend that sat in your passenger seat all weekend? I hope you let him watch movies and listen to that fantastic Lexicon system. Also, I hope you left the windows cracked for him :)

haha, i still have not even inserted a cd/dvd in the player. So far it has been my hd radio and my mp3 usb memory that provided the music

I pointed out my bunched leather seat pan to the dealer recently. They took pictures to pass on to the Hyundai rep, who replied that the soft leather will cause the stretching and there's nothing that they can do.

I am having the same problem.
I will be taking her in for some minor fixes and will speak to my rep about the leather stretching. It look bad in my car and it only has 5600 miles.
Hate to see it in a few years.
This is not normal.
I have had BMW, Audi, Cadillac and corvette's and never looked like this.
I have similar problems with my 2007 Saturn Sky. They have replaced by bottom cover twice and are unwilling to do it again.

I have the same problem and since others don't I am not happy about it. If you think the stretching is bad try and get any help from the Genesis Team. I have written 2 letters, called 7 times, sent 1 email and cannot even get anyone to contact me for their reply. Like a lot of owners I love my car but would give Hyundai Customer support an F- for their care and treatment I have received. I can't tell you the number of so called escalated replys I get from the Genesis Team. I believe this kind of attitude is deplorable and not good for Hyundai.

I have the 3.8 and I have the same exact problem! It started at 800 miles, now have 2,300, it did not get any worse so far. The area Service person from Hyundai, looked at it and said I should give it another 5,000 miles, bring it in and they will send it to an upholstery shop to tighten up..

I took mine in and they had it reupholstered...they added more cushion, now it's nice and tight. For free.
