  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Valet Upgrade at Airport

+1 sea of G70s!
I am lucky if I see one every couple of weeks so it was weird seeing so many at once, in the same lot.
I'm glad the weather held up and the airside tour was totally worth it!
I agree, I went there not expecting much but my brother and I had a really fun time. Crossing my fingers they are able to organize another event. While it took them two years to organize it with Pearson, there's plenty of other options available, i.e. CT Motorsports, Shannonville, etc. Yes and the food was fantastic!! lol

I don't think I have ever seen more G70s, the back lot was almost all G70s.
I thought the course where you got to drive yourself was a little disappointing, I attended a Mazda event and their course was much better, you actually had a chance to do fast corners rather than what felt like driving around normal parking lot.
The course with the professional driver was much better, it really made it worthwhile coming out. They were really pushing the car, I wish you got to like 50% of that in the first course.
Food and drink were quite nice too haha

Did you receive an email or written invitation? Did it come from Genesis Canada or your GXM? I live in Toronto and haven't heard anything about this event until reading this thread.

Received my invitation through email. It came from "Genesis Events", it was from the marketing company. I am not sure what I did to get the emails

I also got the invite via email.

I got my invite via email, but it was my "spam" email account and not the one I gave Genesis when I purchased the car.
I assumed it was from the car show in Toronto when I told them I was interesting in purchasing the Genesis.
I spoke to someone there who was looking to buy a G70 so I don't think it was exclusive to owners.

About the day...Awesome! To look over at the next runway and see a jet taking off was mind-blowing. It was a little disappointing when they did the speed run that they didn't let the car reach top speed but still, you'll never hit 180kph unless you hit the track.
Food was great, I would have been happy with sandwiches, but they had Bison, Lamb and Chicken, all well prepared. They even had Genesis branded covers for your head when you put on the helmets. Nice touch.

Totally an upscale event. Check out #GenesisRunwayEvent for pictures

Different event...but I just got an invite from Genesis Canada (via Mississauga) to MODA...

ICFF Moda 2019 – ICFF

$80 CAD/person. So my wife and would be covered...$160...sweet!

I got the invite for that too by the GM of Genesis Mississauga.

For those wondering why they didn't receive an invite, unless you originated as a lead from the airport boutique at Gate D20, customers were selected at random from the GTA. There was a hard cap on space for the event due to the unique nature of the environment. We'll do more things like this in the future!

I didn't go to the auto show this year, so I am assuming the list of invitees was a combination of current owners and prospective owners who have shown interest in the G70.

Great overall experience. Food was fantastic. Wish I could have had more time with the car on my own but there were lots of people waiting.
The parking lot was a sea of G70s.
I was there from 9-1:45.
Pre-production 2020 G90 was sitting in the lot. The matte almost eggshell white on it is fantastic.
Also road tested a couple of cars.
Did I say the food was fantastic?
Met Patrick and a few GXMs. Also Brian from Everyday Reviews on YouTube. Great conversations with the professional drivers as well!
You could probably spot your car in this video someone put up on YouTube. Like you said, there really was a sea of G70s. The guy who posted the video sounds giddy with excitement as I believe I would've been too.

The same gentleman also has videos of the 3 courses Genesis did. Here's the one with the pro driver.
On another note, I thought I'd stop scouring the interwebs for G70 articles and videos after I got the car. The car's home but here I am still searching YouTube for new videos. I need help.

Not sure if he filmed this before 9am or after lunch but the side past the grass divider was filled in the morning. Almost every car was a G70 as opposed to the side he filmed which was scattered with other makes.
A HG was parked beside my NG and I took a pic. Hard to tell the difference cause I took the pic during partial cloud cover!

Guess which is which. I increased the exposure a little to make it easier to differentiate!
Both 2.0T but not sure what trim the other is. I didn't check the wheels!

The one on the right is yours, the NG. There's a reflection on the fender that is kinda bright and it has a tinge of green. Am I right or am I right? :D

I would've picked the one on the right to be NG even without the shade but that would've been just because it was a slightly darker shade.

I was referring to the second pic you posted. I went back and looked at the first one and there's a greenish reflection on the car that's on the left. So I dunno. This is a toss-up - I'll stick with my original pick.

Yep left one on the first pic and right on the second is NG.
In the original pic, it's hard to pick out.
So basically the moral of the story is that you need sufficient light or direct sunlight to easily differentiate. Otherwise it looks the same to the untrained eye!

I had the chance to chat with him in person, really nice guy, he was definitely excited to be able to be around so many G70s
