  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
    If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

13 r-spec...bought new and the car now has 7000 miles. I was planning on changing the oil (again) and rotating the tires this week.

This morning my driver side rear tire was flat. I pull off the wheel and noticed a screw in the top of the tire. No big deal just have to add a plug. However, the tread is very very low compared to the other three. All 3 other tires have even wear and plenty of tread left. The driver side rear tire appears to have even wear but the tread life is significantly lower then the other 3.

Since day one I have had the infamous pulling to the left problem. Dealer did one alignment which didnt help at all and gave me some bs about letting the tires settle to see if that helps lol

Ofcourse the car is going to the dealer for the tire problem but whats the cause of excessive wear on only one tire?

Rear alignment. Also a plug is not the safest flat repair. The tire should be taken off the wheel and a patch put on the inside, then remounted and balanced.

thanks...I'm going to try and see if the dealer will replace the tire for free. do you think Hyundai should be responsible to replace the tire on their dime?

Not really...tire mfgrs responsibilty

dealer did a 4 wheel alignment and it fixed the pulling to the left issue and finally my steering wheel is straight. service manager called me to say they did a 4 wheel alignment and it fixed the problem. i mentioned again that they already did a 4 wheel alignment at 600 miles and it didnt fix the problem so i asked what happened this time. manager proceeds to tell me that last time they only did a 2 wheel alignment...this is bullsh*t b/c i have the previous work order and it says 4 wheel alignment performed. either the tech didnt do it right or didnt do it all.

since the alignment was way off and im sure thats the reason why that one tire was worn down way more then the others, i asked about replacing the tire and they basically said no b/c the wear was even and looks normal.

i really dont like this dealer (millenium hyundai in hempstead NY)...if it wasnt for 3 free oil changes I would not be going there

-> Bert Man,
if all it takes to keep your loyalty is 3Free Oil Changes :eek:

These days they do a plug plus a patch on inside.
