  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Who else finds themselves turning up the heat when trying to turn down the volume and vise versa?

You have heat controls on your steering wheel?

Yes, placement been noted by reviewers also. Have done it infrequently, although mostly deal with stereo volume from steering wheel.

I have noticed this as well. makes me laugh and then I just return to using the steering wheel controls

no...when using the dash...for some reason i don't use the the steering wheel controls that often

you should - much easier!

Personally, I have no issue with the control placement - muscle memory kicks in, I guess - so a non-issue for me.

I've done it probably twice, but that's when I first drove off with the car. I've gotten used to where the control is now on the dash, but I prefer to use the control on the steering wheel.

I like the position of the volume control....With the seat position I use it is a natural reach to easily adjust the sound.....

when i got the car i would frequently get the two screwed up since my previous car and my current truck have the stereo above the climate controls. sorta aggravating at first. wish automakers would try to stick with one or the other when it comes to IP placement of controls!

The arrangement is similar to the one in my bimmer, although I think reversed. After 27 months in the car I still find myself turning the heat up when I want more audio volume. Getting the "muscle memory" tuned in is more difficult when moving back and forth between two or more different cars. Senioritis doesn't help either.

Like a previous poster mentioned, it has been noted in a few reviews...but I also watched a review where one of them noted as one of her top 3 compaints was the cupholder didn't hold her soft drink perfectly straight up and down. Personally, I think some of these reviewers are looking for anything to knock the superlative features and design of this vehicle. Almost as if they are insulted that Hyundai raised the bar with the 2015 Genesis.

As most other posters wrote, after several months I have no issue and easily switch back and forth between the steering wheel controls and the dash dial.

Take it as a compliment that these small things are noted in reviews - it means the big things are done well and the things which are noted only prove how well the car was thought out and implemented.

funny you should mention your bimmer because the first time i saw the center stack on the new genesis i instantly thought about how much it looks like a bimmer.

I do this too. But, at least it's better than my '13 Avalon that had the cruise control on an unlighted stalk coming off the steering column on the lower right. You can't see it without lowering your head thereby taking your eyes off the road and I would regularly hit it with my knee causing various speed changes. Terrible seats and the worst ergonomics on any car that I've ever driven.

This reminds me of how much I hated the positioning of the A/C controls in my second gen CTS. They were very low. Also, you had to mash buttons until you reached the temp setting you wanted, while a digital display displayed the changing temp settings just slightly above the buttons. The rotary dial in the Genesis is much easier to use. The buttons in the CTS were difficult to find and your eyes were off the road for much too long, looking way down while the digits rolled by one by one.
