Wallet key battery replacement

I just got my 2016 Genesis two weeks ago and ordered the Wallet Key Fob today from the Ebay, can't wait to try it out.

Wow! The battery in my G80 card key gave the low battery warning today. I already had an extra CR2412 I purchased from Amazon. These instructions made the replacement so easy! Only took 5 minutes! Thank you!

Replacing the battery in the Genesis G80 wallet key is a bit tricky. Use a small screwdriver and insert the tip into the slot on the backside of the wallet key and then just force it open. the replacement battery is a Panasonic CR2412. You can get at Walmart or on Amazon pretty cheap.

no need for a screw driver.

if you eject the physical key from the key card, the square tip is designed to fit perfect into the slot, give it a small twist and the battery tray released.


same with the regular fob, eject the physical key then insert it into the slot under where the key came out and twist and the fob opens for battery replacement.

My card key battery lasts about a year. Not bad considering the convenience and "cool" factor.
