If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Anyone have any experience with these tires Primewell PZ900? They look like they have an aggressive tread design but i have no hands on with them.

I'll need to replace the oem tires and am looking for more grip - don't care too much about road noise- I want grip cornering and straight line accel and brake
any suggestions would be warmly welcomed

please for the love of god do not buy these tires. absolutely crap, especially for our cars. You may not care about road noise, but after about 10k miles, they will be cupped like no other, and will make the whole car shake. and you will be buying new tires between 15k-25k miles.

There is a reason they are so cheap. I'd go with something like the Michelin PS2, or the Bridgestone Turanza w/Serenity.

Bridgestone Turanza w/Serenity is a very nice comfortable tire, but the exact opposite of what the OP is looking for.

Well I was suggesting those going by my personal experience in them. I drove a G35 and a 5 series with those tires on them. The tires handle corners very well.

But that's just my .02. Might want to go with a different tire size to broaden your options.

The Bridgestone Turanza Serinity is what I have on my car and its the third set of this tire I have had on cars. Why, because it is a w rated tire, handles well and is excellent in wet weather. It ranks very high on tirerack.com and it pulls about the same in lateral g force as max performance tires.
Also I get about 40k to 50k miles on a set.

Need to get some shoes soon. I have been eying these, as they are sold at Costco. They are pretty expensive, but I have had excellent experiences with Bridgestone tires in the past. And I am a firm believer that trying to save a few bucks on cheapo tires are a false economy.

Continental ExtremeContact DWS will be my next selection

You will be very pleased with Continental ExtremeContact DWS. I just got a set because Tire Rack highly rates them in the snow (I live in the Chicago area) and was pleasantly surprised that they dramatically improved the ride on rough Chicago roads. I would say the Contis ride at least 30% smoother and softer than the Dunlops.

dam. i'm lookin into some kumho platinumz ssen nah ssayn?

For a car that retails at over $40k,.... 1000.00 is about what owners should expect to pay for a set of name brand high quality all season performance tires. The Hyundai OE Dumflops are not good tires or in other words they suck as shown in the surveys etc on Tirerack.com they rank last or close to last in dry and wet traction. Goodyear Tire company should not have made this tire, they can do a lot better.

Great choice of tires, I got them on my car and have been completely satisfied. I also like that they have a 6 Years / 50,000 miles warranty. They are ranked #1 out of 24 other tires tested in their category (Ultra High Performance All Season). They offer a lot of grip and their wet traction performance is incredible. Got them on Tire Rack for $178/each and they shipped them directly to my dealer. Shop around though you might find a better price.

The OEM Dunlop's didn't make it to 25k miles and I'm very easy going on how I drive....most times !! :)

Just my 2 cents on the subject matter, hope it helps /cheers.

you would be surprised how many people will buy nice cars (ie bmw, mercedes) and then act offended when they are told a set of tires will cost close to $1,000 dollars. If you want anything decent on an 18" tire, you better be ready to pay. Unfortunately, most people just like that shiny blue and white emblem.... which also shows why they were dumb enough to waste money on that instead of getting a Genesis.

With 35000KM (22K miles) my dunlops were sounding as if I was driving on a flat tire. I put the Turenza serentitys (from Costco) on and suddenly my car was back to 'smooth, quiet, and brand new feeling. I recommend them. I have hearing aids and given that hearing aids are really just fancy amplifiers, noise is an issue for me. The Bridgestones are very quiet (at least relative to what my dunlops were sounding like)

how you made it this long driving in the snow is an achievement.

We're retired, so if it snows, we just stay home. In Toronto, it really doesn't seem to snow that much anymore. Last winter we left in January for "your south" and didn't come back till Mid March. The car performed flawlessly until on our way back, we stopped in Detroit during a blizzard. The dunlops were absolutely useless in the snow. We had to wait at the hotel until they cleared a direct path to the roadway. Then once we got into Ontario, there wasn't much snow.
