  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Well took genesis in today to have looked at as AC was not blowing cold air. The dealership called me and said that a rock went through the condesor for the ac and that it wasnt covered under the warranty. They said this was road hazzard and not faulty equipment. i have had other instances with other vehicles and makers and they have covered it with similar issues. I even called Hyundai corp and they said it wasnt covered i think BS. I bought the car last May and for what i paid for the car i would think it would be covered. First of all not looking at car as it is at the dealership still could a rock actually hit that part.

You cannot seriously expect Hyundai to indemnify you against anything that happens to your car. The warranty clearly states you are protected from quality issues, failed parts and related breakdowns for an exceptional period of time. It is beyond reason that they be expected to fix any failures due to circumstance beyond their control. What do you think they are, the federal government?

How is it BS? Why should Hyundai pay for damage that is in no way their fault?

If a nail goes into your tire should the tire manufacturer replace it under warranty?

If a deer jubs out in front of you and there is son impact is it a warranty issue.....get real!

This is why you have auto insurance.... by logic, if rock hits the windshield and cracks it, car warranty won't cover it.

I had something similar happen before, rock punched a huge hole in the radiator, auto insurance covered the damage.

Your car insurance will cover the damage less your comprehensive coverage deductable.

Sorry...but yeah, this isn't a warranty issue.

427435, not sure what age has to do with it...'splain?!

This is an insurance matter, not warranty

The OP sounds like he is under 35 and nothing is his fault or responsibility.

I"ll buy that...an entitlement child per se.

Sometimes common sense is standard equipment . . . sometimes it's optional.

sorry but i was told bumper to bumper warranty by the dealership, when i called and spoke to hyundai corp they said that road hazzard is under bumper to bumper warranty but i didnt have bumper to bumper warranty. i had to pay extra at the time of purchase and was never told that. all they said was anything that happened to car was covered. spoke to dealership and salesman and they said they would of told me this and they did not, just wanted to make the sale obviously. that is why i am pissed told one thing by dealership but they really didnt give me the bumper to bumper

i hate to say this but if you read the post i just stated a deer isnt road hazzard, and under bumper to bumper road hazzard is covered. which i was told i had. i am also really disappointed in all who just think that when someone has an issue that they think should be covered, but your pristine a** doesnt think so then they are being someone who thinks everyone should give something to them. I work hard obvioulsy i could afford the r-spec i have a family that i provide for , i went to college with a degree and make over 6 figures, volunteer for all my kids sports and programs. so before you judge someone based on a post. why not get to know them as you are the people that give this world a bad name by profiling someone over 1 paragraph.

The OP may be thinking of a road hazard TIRE warranty. I'm not familiar with anything called a bumper to bumper road hazard warranty. Of course, the OP could provide us with a link to one so that we can understand better what he is talking about.

I just re-read the warrant and it says nothing about road hazard. It only covers manuturers defects.

Let's stop being silly. Road hazard is not a covered peril under any factory automobile warranty, and I can't imagine anyone who has the where with all to by a new vehicle who doe not know this.

If the same rock hit the windshield, Hyundai would not cover it under warranty. Why?? Because Hyundai has no control over accidents of any kind

While it would be great if a factory new car warranty acted as both a warranty and damage insurance, it simply does not.

I suggest the OP contact his insurer and make a claim, unless of course he has a comp deductible in excess of $1000.
