  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I had a flat tire last night, opened my trunk to grab the spare and there was a huge puddle of water

I got into a wreck and they had to replace my rear bumper and do some work on the trunk. Not sure if that's the cause or if this is a problem that a lot of people are having.

Thank You for the heads up. After the next Florida Rain storm I will check to see if I have any water in below the cargo matt. I know for sure my trunk itself is dry, but must admit that I haven't looked below the cargo matt but one time when checking to make sure I had the lug nut wheel lock key in there shortly after I first bought the car.

It is good idea to look there frequently to check the air pressure on the compact spare tire. It is supposed to be 60 PSI on a compact spare tire, but I learned the hard way that it does not hold that much pressure for a long time. I got a flat one time on my Genesis, and had to drive the compact spare 100 miles at about 30 PSI.

I have run my Genny through car washes and in the recent Texas thunderstorms. The trunk is dry all the way to the bottom panel.

As you recently had repair work to that area, that would be my first thought as the cause.
I would take it back to the repair facility.

Mine stays dry too. It sounds to me like the body shop needs to take another look at the car.
