  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Weapon R Intake

Jboogie, you have a 5.0 right? I didnt have any fitmit issues with the shield or the filter.. can you take a pic of what your experiencing? It did take me a few minuntes to figure out which way the pipe went.. Look at the pics I posted. If that helps..

It's odd because his profile states 5.0 but his post references a MAF sensor which doesn't exist on the 5.0's.

Sorry, didn't mean MAF. Meant throttle body..

If i connect the tube to the TB the screw hole wont line up.

The shield doesn't line up with either hole

Filter wont go on to tube with shield installed

If i connect the screw, this is how the tube lines up with the TB.

I don't think a $300 CAI should have this many fitment issues. Called weapon-r 4 times and was promised a call back, never got a call back. Sent Chris W multiple emails his reply was to "fiddle" with it to get it to line up.. That's the wrong answer.

Maybe i just got a dud...

That looks terrible all around. You deserve a refund at a minimum. I think I'll go with the R2C intake once they restock.

Once i get my refund, that's prolly the rout i will go.

I'm so very disappointed with weapon-r.. I have installed many CAI's in my cars and friends cars in the past and never had this many fitment issues.

Jboogie, sorry to hear about that man.. I agree a 300.00 shouldve have issues with fitment. You definitely deserve a refund.. Thats crap.. The R2C one does look nice. And its 50 bucks cheaper. I wouldve went with that one myself, but it wasnt available. I feel like crap because I was telling everyone how great it was.. damn

Just looking at you attatchments, make me want to rip mine off and send it back.. It looks like they gave you a crap setup from the start.. wow...

I just installed the R2C and it was a breeze, detailed, easy and clear instructions good quality stuff. Great sound now from the engine.

I would recommend R2C performance.

I had some issues also I couldn't get the bracket to line up to the hole either, so I just didn't bolt it on. I agree not the easiest to put on as it doesn't line up well or fit well. still seems to work well however.

Im in Dallas boogie.. The intakes have to be made to order. It makes no sense that one works on others dont..

maybe they have bad QC and trying to get it to work with the 4.6 and 5.0.. Either way its gone back. Just waiting on my refund.

To clarify, the only options for the 5.0 is the intake from R2C performance and you have to custom order them?

I can only go off my personal experience.. I would recommend that anyone with a 5.0 stay as far away from this weapon-r intake as possible. Its is not worth $300.. not even really worth $200.

It isn't worth anything. I wouldn't put anything on my car with ill fitting brackets, heat shield, and piping. You're better off buying a generic intake pipe with a 90 degree bend along with a K&N filter and calling it a day.

+1 On whut he sed. :)

I agree I probably will take off and send back just so no issues in future. The intake is on there solid even without the bracket bolted on. Have had in on there for 2 weeks and no problems And seems to work great.
