  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

The advisor asked me if I had been having any other problems. Told him the Bluetooth acted funny on occasion, and i was having volume issues with HD radio. An hour later he said here is your FOB and we swapped out the head end radio for you. Nice touch, no fights, or "we can not replicate the probem", etc. He said they had seen a few with similiar problems and they had a few units in stock. So since i have owned the car, here is what has been done:

New Engine = My fault, its a car not a boat
New Wheels = Detail shop error
New Radio = Warranty
New Brakes/Rotors = part of the water damage
New Tranny fluid = part of water damage (precautionary)
New Starter = Water

All these related to a loose bolt giving a false charging signal to the computer(these items were changed as troubleshooting steps) which occured when engine was swapped out: Tightned the bolt as was well.

New Battery
New Alternator
New Computer, which handles the charging system

And 2 oil changes. I feel like I'm driving a new car!!

I thought you would have ended your post like this:

Note to everyone.
That is the car that tried to drive through a flooded area and did not make it. That was the cause of everything except the radio problem.

Question for crupp,
Are you going to (try to) drive through standing water again?? <grin>

I was driving home tonight and I called my wife using my phone which is connected via bluetooth. After I disconnected, the volume of my HD Radio was significantly lower then the regular radio. Every time I scanned to a new station the volume was higher then would switch to HD Radio and the volume would drop. The volume was low enough in HD that I could turn up the volume all the way up and it was not loud. (I can only scan because my Multimedia Selector Knob is inoperative and I am waiting to get a call from Hyundai when they receive the new part which is on back order.)

I went out to the car again later and the volume was back to normal. I seem to be having a few issues with the multimedia system on this car. I love the car and only hope that Hyundai will honor their commitment to resolve the problems. It appears that they took car of your system without question. I'll have to see what they say when I mention it.

Ben

that is the exact problem i had with mine

That sounds like the BT system is not properly disconnecting from the radio system and allowing the radio to power up again - do both of you have the tech package?
