What’s with all the new “used” red ones I’m seeing for sale everywhere?

What is it with you fellow humans and you not digging red? You can't tell me that you don't notice when you see a Torch Red Corvette driving by. The only problem is, you're not the only one to notice. Law enforcement notices.

I bought the exact same car 3 weeks ago and love it. Mine also has the adhesive on the chrome trim around the windows. What did you use to get it off? I tried Goo Gone and a microfiber towel, but it didn't work so well on the section I tried to remove it from.

@Jeremy - I had to soak the towel in Goo Gone and apply lots of muscle to remove the adhesive. It was an all day task to clean all of the trim around the windows. When done, the trim will be "bright chrome" and not the "dark chrome" as they should be. I contacted Genesis and they would not replace the trim. You should take photos before cleaning. I did not and could not show any proof of the issue. Maybe take it to the dealership. I suspect that they either left those protector strips on for months or the dark chrome coating just decomposed leaving the mess.

I was washing my Havana Red G70 this morning and noticed front fender is a different color than neighboring panels. It’s more orange. Does anyone know the vin range or build dates where the paint issue was present? I bought mine new (not used with low miles) and wondering what I can do now.

I think the red paint issue was for first release G70s and 2019 models. If you have a new 2020, don’t think they had repaint issues going on? Not sure if there is a requirement to disclose prior work or damage correction/repair work done on a new vehicle or not? There has been a lot of prior discussions here about red paint though.

Mine is a 2019. Build date was 08/2018

I thought I read on here that at least one was successful in getting the front end repainted. You'll have to talk to your dealership to see what they agree to. If they refuse, you can take it to Genesis corperate.

You might want to go back and read this thread at the beginning. The paint issues were discussed in the first messages.

I’ve probably seen 10 Havana Red fully loaded G70s for sale around the $40,000 mark and they have delivery miles (under 75 miles) yet they’re classified as used. Has anyone bought one of these or can tell me what the deal is? Seems like a great deal. Thank you
