  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Now that some of us have had the Genesis over 1 1/2 years what has everybody done to their Genesis to make it special.

So far I have put on wings, (front, back hub caps and steering wheel) mud guards, rear window spoiler and VIM for the dvd player. I would like to in the future put in LCD lights on the bottom of the doors and above the front legs area.

I put KDM wing badges and wheel caps, but no other accessories so far.
I did some "modification" - removing the door panels and sound deadening them.
Planning on adding a subwoofer and the genesis airbag in the future.

It's in my signature. :) New tires are next.....exhaust/exhaust tips after that.

And then I am D-O-N-E. No cheesy chrome (IMO) door pillars, no oversized wheels, no dropped suspension. I quite like the way it looks at the stock ride height w/ 18" wheels.

All I have done is the KDM trunk badge, wheel caps, and HIDs. Eventually I'll add a metallic tint, but that's it. Maybe some cone marks if I take it to an autocross.

Only added the illuminated scuff/sill plates. I have been thinking of doing the wing badges but since I am leasing, I don't know if that would violate the lease.

I am a proud new owner of a 2009 Genesis Crystal white with almond leather and Tech package. I really enjoy driving this superb car in which a lot of design thoughts have gone in.
I have fixes the wings in front and back. My dealer showed the new wheel cap with wings and wants $ 220 for all four including tax. Could I get it cheaper anywhere as my Mercedes caps cost less.

Try here ($149.95): http://www.koreanautoimports.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=31_237_238&products_id=918, or eBay - there are several vendors there

He has the V8. The V6 caps on the V8 wheels looks like butt. ;)

That's actually a good price on the V8 wheel center caps AFAIK. I found them for $230 on ebay.

Hey! I like mine. :D

Seriously, I hated the V8 wheels and was wondering if I could switch to the V6 wheels.
After finding out that it wouldn't clear the front calipers, I decided to give those V6 wing caps a try before getting a new set of wheels.
Result; couldn't be happier. It makes it look more like the the V6 wheels. :)

Many thanks. I will hold until more opinions come.

How were you able to convert the standard headlights to the HIDs? Are you talking the bulbs only or the entire unit? Cost?

Genesis 18" Wheel Caps (V8) $269.00
My dealer price is excellent as it includes installation and warranty
Thanks everybody

Not a bad deal. For the benefit of others, installation is very, very, very easy. It took me 5 minutes before work to pry off the old ones with a butter knife and snap the new ones in. I am by no means a "fiddler" either (you know, the kind of people who enjoy taking stuff apart to figure out how it works). If it's not a PC, which I've been building my own and fixing them since 1986, I don't mess with it.

It is best to pry them off with the tool included with the car (in the trunk by the spare) a screwdriver or butter knife can mar the surface. You also have to be careful to align them properly when you put the new ones on. There is a tab that needs to go into a narrow slot on the wheel. The cover will go on even if it isn't aligned properly, but it will bend the plastic tab and it might cause it to pop back off from the tab pressure.
