  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What cars did you consider buying when you bought your Genesis?

I looked at a:
used Cadillac STS-V (my knees hit the dash)
used BMW 550 (cost and warranty killed it for me, and my knees hit the passenger dash)

The value on the Genesis is tough (impossible?) to beat by anybody in this segment.

I went to a Hyundai Dealership to buy Hyundai Sonata 2.0t limited with Navi in white but then I saw this used 2010 white Genesis with Tech for cheaper. Never really considered Genesis but then after I sat inside, listened to Lexicon 17 speakers and test drove, I signed the papers.

Test drove a '11 XF Supercharged, a '10 A6, and a '10 CTS 3.6.

Picked a '12 R-Spec because of features and HP for the dollar and the warranty.

Wow we're in the same boat. My Mustang GT is being turned in next month under the lemon law and the Genesis 5.0 and/or R-Spec are on the short list.

Stopped in a looked at Jaguar when I started car shoping because I was returning my Ponitac G8 under the lemon law. Loved the looks of them but no leg room in the back, even though the car is bigger than the Genney or my G8
Test drove a lexus LS460 and liked it, but not the price tag.

I was on my way to look at a Ford Tarus SHO AWD or a Lincon MK Z. I had my grandfather with me who said to stop in at the Hyundai dealer. I said ok, just to apease him. Boy am I glad I did. They had a black R Spec in the showroom that blew me away. So I started doing research on the car.

I wound up finding a Grey one near my house and took the wife to look at it. Bought it a month later when my Lemon law went thru. For a woman who never wanted to drive the G8, I can't seem to get here out from behind the wheel of the Genney. we both love the car and I'm glad I got it.

I am considering buying a Genesis, but am also considering a used Infiniti M or BMW 5 series. What other cars did you consider when you bought your Genesis and why did you decide to get a Genesis?
Audi A6, Accura TL & RL, MB and G37

Genny was best in specs and in interior for me, I am a Big guy and drove Caddys for 30 years this is the most fun car I have had and great ride once you loose the stock tires and put on a set of Continental DWS a set of 4 about 1k
also had it back for service and the service dept. said to beat it, it is high performance and needs to be run hard, p.s. love it when I beat the wise guys from a stop 0 to 60 in 5.6 and I am 67 lol
