  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What did you do to the Gennie today?

Finally got my emblems in. Also added the BH380 and removed "Genesis" Now trying to decide on wheels.

Is there such a thing as a "BH500" badge for the international Genny with the 5.0? Or what is is called?

Just blew away a heavy rice burner, lightened Civic SI with two stage Nitro.

Was cruising on hwy. He can from on ramp. With that spewing weed whacker sound loud enough to break the silence of my Genny 5.0. I nudged up on his tail with a smile on my face.

The road opened up from traffic. He punched it and began to run. I pushed just a bit in the throttle. Then his engine sound changed, and he started to pull away... So, I said enough of this.. Punched it and went around him. He was wide open and picking up speed fast. But not fast enough. For this is Genny country on the wide open acceleration spaces. I pulled away axing with his jaw dropped. Will not say the ending speed. But you can imagine what that would be with the foot left mashed for a period.

His car had great too speed too. As I coasted he kept going and finally went past me. He was moving farther into the triple digits than any Civic should go. Later. He slowed and wanted me to open it up while his window was open. I complied. Again jaw dropped. He followed me off the exit.

When we talked he was amazed how quiet the Genny was while full on. He wanted to know all about it. He showed me his car. I found out about his heavy two stage nitrous, reworked heads, pistons, cams, headers, CV joints, springs, wheels, electric accessories. He said 372 on RWHP from the Dyno and showed me a paper. He had almost 280 of torque. Amazing for a punched out Acura engine in the Civic SI.

He had multiple carbon fiber body panels, and had stripped put much of the interior. I forgot to ask him the weight.

Anyway, that is a light car... All tricked up. And was fast. But in Genny country not fast enough by a country mile.

He is younger and was proud of his modifications. I am not into rice burning at all, but really respected the detail and work he did.

When he was still foaming at the mouth over the Genny, I suggested that he should think about saving the money for mods, and apply that to a Genny. He was converted from noise and speed, to quiet and speed. I suspect a 5.0 of some kind will be in his future.

Whenever (which is not often) I have showed the Genny's teeth, others who are not full of pride jerks love the "whoosh" without the fuss. When the Genny passes them by at such a fast rate.

Some days there is something to quiet show of speed. No need to announce with noise, just show by the warp signature like tail of the Enterprise as it goes by. :)

hand washed her, detailed the tires, and used McGuirer's quick detail spray!

From what I understand, the Korean version of genesis don't have the V8s in them as the gas in Korea is very very expensive. The only genesis model that has 5.0 V8 is the Genesis Prada. The badge reads "GP500" --> Genesis Prada 500.

First year of ownership - hand wash and spray detail weekly, wax every three months. Second year, hand wash now and then. Third year - car wash. Still looks good, but my standards and energy have dropped.

I just put 2400+ miles on my Genny in 2 days, was a very comfortable ride even on the bad roads through NYC and Long Island. I got 29.4 MPG on the highway and in the city 19.5.......Today she gets a cleaning inside and out, very dirty from the weather while traveling.

Great story! We need a "kill" section on this forum.
I'm actually surprised you were able to pull away from him if he's putting down that kind of power.

There's nothing silent about my car with the intake. The sounds it makes on open highway runs brings a BIG grin to my face every time.

What intake do you have ?

Got a nice rock dent and chip on my roof about 3 inches above my windsheld last weekend. PDR scheduled tonight for $100.

Get the intake sound. Someday, will seek the extra good sounds. And maybe get a few more HP along the way. Historically I like more aural enjoyment when the hammer is down. And from the videos in the forum, the 5.0 sounds nice. For the time being it is enjoyable to have the silence.

IMO the 8 speed really helps have a better gear at each highway speed zones than guys with manual 5-6 speeds. And weight is not as much a factor verses off the line. If it was a CTS V, the outcomes would not be close Genny would be way outgunned.

Watched my 2010 3.8 sedan get towed away because it would not start. At least they can look at the misaligned sunroof again while it is there.

Finally picked up the trunk tray. Carrying my two kid's baseball gear was getting the trunk filthy.

Also trying to build a cold air box out of the stock airbox. Pics soon.

Got windows tinted today Suntek carbon 35% all around and Llumar Air80 on windshield.

Also got a clear "bumper pad" to prevent scratches on the paint right below the trunk.

I was planning to do Llumar all up but they were out of stock when I got there. Bummed, but the Suntek looked the same and performed as well (at least on paper).

I really noticed a marked difference in the temperature so far. Seemed about half as hot getting in on sunny day. Just baking instead of scorching.

Washed it an applied another coat of Gtecnniq siloleal. Water runs aways from the finish. I just use the leaf blower to dry it now :)

Somehow got a quarter sized dent on my roof while driving to Detroit from St Louis. Has a small nick in the paint too. FML :-(
