  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What did you do with your DH Genesis today?

^^ I like everything about it!

changed the ol cabin filter, and in the words of the Virgin Mary, "WTF HYUNDAI!?!?!?!???????!!"

not even a foam prefilter so that crap doesn't find its way into the fan itself when i remove the old one?? wtf indeed. It's looking like ima add a prefilter, if you will, to the intake on the outside of the vehicle. I have a whole roll of hepa carbon pre filter for a system I no longer use so I can do this monthly and I'd never run out, but good lord, srsly ppl, that is ridonkulous. BTW, put in the arm and hammer filter, forget the brand, theres only one though, and boy did it make an instantaneous diff, soooo much bettar

Gapped my exhaust with 1/4" worth of washers on both sides. There's too much drone. I'm going to play around with it some more... go down to 1/8" or even gap one side. If I can't find a combination that works for me, I'll just return it to stock. Easier to do than install cutouts and easy to return back to factory when I trade in the car.

Great pics! My friend has a car-lift and now I finally feel comfortable locating the bolts.

Fram makes that filter. I just received my replacement filter from Rock Auto, and can't wait to change it out. I have the mildew like smell at start-up too.

Update: Just replaced my cabin filter in 5 mins. Open the glove compartment, and squeeze inward on both sides and let it drop a bit. The filter cover has 2 tabs on the left side that release the cover when you pinch them together. Pull the filter out and replace with the arrow for airflow pointing downward. And reverse the removal prcoess. The smell is now gone.

If you dont mind, can you share where you ordered them from? Im interested as well.
Thanks.

Put it in to have the fender that someone so graciously damaged and didn't tell me about. Hopefully she comes out looking like new. :/

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Picked up a 2016 Genesis yesterday ;), so today I cleaned the very hard to reach inside of the back window, picked up my EZtag for the Texas highways and bought some general cleaning supplies. Now, trying to figure out what that little opening is on the center console right above the shifter. It looks like there should be a cap or something there? First post and will build a profile etc.

Finally got my wheels, seems like they took forever to arrive

Hmm, never liked the look of that style of wheel myself; but I must say, might be the first time I've ever thought directional spokes looked good. Well played!

Thread doesn't seem to want to let me post. Site is being real funky lately....

Anyway, I don't normally like directional spokes, but those are nice, well played!

Side note, is it just an optical illusion that I can't shake, or are those rims set up in the opposite directions?

Thanks.

No illusion, they were in opposite directions.

So this happened on Friday....

Missus in the Mazda cut me off; darted out into traffic from about 30' away from my front bumper while I was goin 50 km/h. I think she's wrote off tbh. Impact was likely at around 40 - 45 km/h.

No major injuries, although I have a concussion and a bunch of soft tissue damage in my neck, back and wrists. All in all, it could have been much worse though, so thankful for that. May or may not get the same car again, be a chance now to try out something else perhaps.

Gray 2015 Genesis Ultimate 3.8 HTRAC

1. Swapped the standard gold 1157 DRLs for Sylvania Super Bright LED DRLs with load resistors
2. Discovered that the passenger side light was wired backwards by the factory (noted this in another user's forum post) - barrel was positive and pin was negative (barrel should be negative and pin should be positive).
3. Rewired the light connector, and then bridged the two wires with the load resistor. Lights look awesome, although I'm concerned about heat from the load resistors.
4. I did note that both stock 1157 bulb sockets were burnt from the heat of the factory installed 1157 yellow bulbs. I'm hopeful that the LEDs will run much cooler, and the load resistors will be able to shed heat without melting anything in the headlight assembly.
5. Then, I installed the OEM Hyundai Mobis Foglights, left and right.
6. Ran the power wire through the hood latch hole - easy fish through the firewall.
7. I used a Micro2 Fuse Tap with a 10amp fuse in the #2 cigarette lighter 12V socket fuse position (second column from the right - first 20amp fuse as you progress up the column of fuses)
8. I put a switch on the ground wire, but left the switch under the hood of the car. I need to scope out a good location to install the switch discretely in the cabin.

PM me if you want pictures and part numbers. Total job took about 3 hours. Miraculously, everything worked the first time....that is exceptionally rare in my experience, so I'm a happy boy.
