  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What did you do with your DH Genesis today?

My car has been stolen from my driveway last night. They found it only few streets away still in the same sub division.
How'd they do it? ...... my daughter is 17 and the garage door opener was missing from her car, most likely, one of her "friends" stole it. I didn't know that till this morning, otherwise I'd know that something is going on or will be.

They came into my house at night, around/after midnight, they opened the garage, went inside and took the key from the counter. My wallet full of cash and my wife's purse was right next to the key, they didn't touch it, they only took the key to my car!

I'm not sure if my car was used to commit a crime, or only for a joy ride, but there was one thing that gets me to scratch my head all day - when the police opened the trunk, there was a cash register drawer inside (empty of course) !!! nope, it wasn't mine. So we assumed, the car could have been used is some kind of crime around my neighborhood or other town close by.

As for any damage to my car - all 4 wheels have a curb rush, a lot! other than that, all looks good. Only thing missing from my car was the radar detector Valentine One, and they kept the fob. They didn't take my sunglasses - two pairs, both cost ~450 dollars. Not to mention other valuable stuff in the trunk.

Holy shit man, glad your family is ok, but that's crazy do you have any sort of cameras or surveillance at the house or in the garage? Does the cops keep the car now or what will happen. Glad that's all they took was some money and the car, those can be replaced.

That is crazy! Damn kids!
Glad it didn't end worse.

No, we don't have anything around the house. I'll be getting it next week.

Since it happened in the same town where we live, they (cops) did their "thing" right there on the street. So I go the car two hours later, went to the dealer, got the new key fob, both reprogrammed, washed the car and detailed.

Wow, that sucks. You'll probably hear about a store broken into also. I imagine you are taking steps to not let it happen again. It makes you very distrustful too. I'm missing tools from the garage thanks to "friends" of my grandson that was living with us at the time. That part can be tougher than the joy ride. Good luck.

I'd probably let it go, but since they "broke" into my house, I'll be getting some "toys" pretty soon.

I hope police will find those idiots. They left some evidence, like fingerprints, cigarette butt inside and outside the car! lol

Friend of mine just stopped by, she heard there were two break ins last night nearby.

My sincere regrets that you and your family had to endure such a terrible ordeal. I am happy to hear that no one was hurt in your house hold. It also good that your car is still in good condition. Hopefully, no one was hurt by the criminals when they "acquired" the cash drawer.

Installed a cold air intake from AEM today.... Not interested in the HP increase but I love the woosh sound.
Driving it a little after installing it, it sounds like the engine is breathing so much better!
I love it!

Also got the windows tinted last weekend. (photo in the other photo forum)

Glad everyone is alright but that sucks man. Keep us updated if you are going to claim the wheels and radar. I'd like to know how your insurance company will handle that. Stay safe out there

The RPD detective is working on "my case"....he told me today, that on the same night, there was an armed robbery, two masked suspects might be the same individuals he mentioned to me, which are in custody now for something else they did near my house a few days ago.
If I can get the Bluelink to work with our PD, that would be awesome! all we need now, is to find out in which/kind car they used to get there. If they can prove my car was near the gas station that night, it would be very important.

As for the ins. claim, I don't think they would actually pay for new wheels and V1. I'll deal with them next week.

I swapped my old worn our shift knob for a new one I bought off Ebay from Korea. The knob only costed about $30 with free shipping. Took about a couple weeks to arrive.

My old knob was only three years old, but it looked like crap. Luckily it was easy and cheap to replace.

New shift knob

Old worn shift knob and part number for replacement.

My shift knob was bothering me as well. After seeing your post I ordered one on eBay and received it from Korea in 2 weeks. Absolutely satisfied.

Man, I am anal about faded/chipped crap in my cars. LOL. I would buy a new steering wheel if i had to just to change faded control buttons.:)

I usually do not have a problem with faded controls/knobs on cars I buy new even if I sell them three later, but I have seem to be buying more crap like shift knobs/steering wheel controls lately on my last few used cars. I guess I just baby my cars, since most my cars look new when I trade them.

Today I received a OEM G80 5.0 Htrac badge set from you guess it Korea. The badges costed $10 for the set with free two week shipping on Ebay. I only installed the 5.0 badge on my engine cover. I picked the newer style 5.0 badge since it is larger than the 2015 5.0 badge and match the V8 engine cover badge perfectly. I may install the Htrac badge on the trunk one day to confuse people, but now I do not feel like pretending that I have AWD when I do not.:(

The badges in the OEM packaging.
