  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What did you do with your DH Genesis today?

Clean car man! I wish they made the coupe in the updated styling, I'd buy that asap! The Parisian is growing on me, going to get all of the chrome blacked out probably next month once I get back from vacation. Then start looking for some wheels.
Thank you. Looking forward to updates with yours.

Updated my software to 13 and finally get to have Carplay. Absolutely love having Waze on the main screen. Spotify looks like it's not showing playlists for some reason, I thought it would, but the album art comes up fine and I'm happy. The car feels so future proof now with Carplay. Waze is a god send and I really wanted to have it on the main screen like it is now.

Looks good. I have to paint my calipers also. I may go with a red color.:)

This is my 5th time doing the caliper paint and I've ALWAYS done red. Always either a black or a red car and the red that G2 has looks GREAT! I just wanted something different and have always liked gold on white cars. Almost went with gold wheels with a polished lip.....but it was a bit too much for me. Too gaudy looking. The gold calipers are just enough. I ordered some Genesis logo vinyl stickers for the calipers too.....just not sure if I'm gonna use them now. Might be too many Genesis logos!!! Now I'm thinking about having some "N" stickers done.

Gold colored brake calipers does fit your white car perfectly.:)

My Genesis is black so red would be the best option for me. I may also just paint them silver again like stock, but that is boring.

I will be painting them soon. I am waiting until I swap my brake pads and rotors as well as bleeding the old the brake fluid.

I will be going with Power Stop Z26 pads and black coated Duralast Gold brake rotors. I use the Duralast black rotors on my Escalade and they are holding up well after 3 years with minimum rust.

Here is how the Autozone Duralast Gold rotors look after three years of use on my Escalade. The black coating does a good job of resisting rust. Here my Bilstein shock install.

I like it. Have you used those pads in the past? I'll be switching out the rotors when the front pads are done. Its gonna be awhile though.

I have not used the Power Stop Z26 carbon-fiber ceramic pads before, but the I have used similar Hawk HPS 5.0 carbon-fiber ceramic pads on another car(2014 KIA Optima SXL 2.0T) which dramatically helped stopping distances. I assume the the Z26 pads will perform as good as the factory pads or better. I would purchase Hawk pads, but they are not available for my 2015 Genesis.

I usually just change my rotors as well when I first change my pads if the mileage is past 60k. Most pads last about 60k miles or more so I will not have to worry about another pad/rotor change for a long time.

Hawk HPS 5.0 pads which are similar to the Power Stop Z26 pads.

When the time comes I want a pad with a bit more initial bite. I think I'll look into those.....thanks!

@Scamp how did u update
I went through the My Hyundai site which took me to Map N Soft site. Paid somewhere around $145 or so to download/install the software upgrade to an SDHC card (16 GB) I had laying around.

If you're not tech savy, you need to know that with an SDHC card you'll also need a USB adapter to connect it to your computer (unless your computer already has a slot to read/write to SDHC.

I personally would recommend a Class 10 SDHC card as it's optimal read/write speeds, so you'll hopefully save some time when you plug it into the car for the update.

The slot for the SDHC in the infotainment is in the middle and you shouldn't have trouble finding it, I believe I received a PDF on the installation when I bought the software.

Hi, how did you update? I am interested.

Thanks!

"New" wheels and Michelin tires on my 2015 3.8 yesterday!
Ride is awesome - they do lightly "sing" a bit at highway speeds though. Guess I'll get used to it.
