  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What did you do with your DH Genesis today?

I only got the rear sway bar and some other suspension braces.
Personally I love the way this beast handles now.
Yesterday I re-torqued the front and rear subframe bolts to 130ft/lbs (3 of the front ones needed it) and car feels even tighter and tracks better on the highway. I have ordered the subframe rigid collars but might be sending them back, since just re-torquing the bolts made a difference for me. The car is at 42k miles now.
I am still under the factory 5/60 warranty. Once the cars warranty runs out I am going to add some of the upgrades that you have performed. Sway bars make a huge difference, along with the subframe braces. I installed a rear sway bar on everything I own .[ 01 GMC 2500 HD 8.1 I installed helwig 1 5/16 on rear Works great.!] [ 2000 Suburban 2500 Helwig 1 1/4 rear sway bar tightened her right up. ] next is the Genny. 15 5.0 with 34k .

how difficult was the install?

how difficult was the install?
Install was pretty straightforward. One of the rear muffler sections will need to be unbolted by the flange, to make room taking out existing sway-bar and feeding new one, in. You can reuse the metal flange gasket to re-bolt muffler section back. You can also reuse existing sway-bar links, if they are in good condition.

How much thicker is the new sway bar??

OEM Rear is 16mm on the 3.8 and new one is now 20mm.
I was reading somewhere that the OEM 5.0 and 3.3TT use a 17mm Rear, but not 100% sure.
It definitely shows 2 different part #'s between the 3.8 & 5.0 on the catalog.

Sounds good! Let me know the measurements of the rear when you do. You got the 5.0, right?
Try not to measure on the bands as you might not get proper measurements.
Now for the Front sway-bar, the OEM catalog shows the same part #'s for 5.0 & 3.8!
I measured my front one and got between 27-27.5 mm.

I'm gonna ask a dumb question. After 734 messages here... what does "DH" in the subject line stand for?

I said it was dumb!

Looks like it's also called DH (17-20) but the new G80 will be RG3.

This article calls the new G80 a 2020 model, but I think it's going to be 2021, right?
