  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What did you do with your DH Genesis today?

Replaced this. I might not have attempted it without the good help from this forum.

I just ordered one yesterday, they're $30 before taxes and shipping on ebay.

Got tints all around and also got the mirrors wrapped in Gloss black, while I was there asked the guys to help replace the Hyundai Badge with Genesis one which they did. Small changes but makes the car stand out a little bit than before :)

Added these striker covers onto my latch strikers. Pretty cheap, but look nice.

Hardwired my Kenwood dashcam. No more power plug monopolizing a DC power outlet. If I had known it was so easy, I would have done it a year ago when I first got the dashcam. The fuse-tap wire included in the kit and the availability of several spare (unused) fuses in the under dash fuse panel made it a 10 minute job. I opted to use an unswitched circuit, so now my cam goes into parking mode when the car is parked.

Haha I was wondering if I should add that as 3rd option :)

Which wheels are those and where did you get the center cap from?
These are custom Savini BM12 wheels. It actually came off of a Lexus RC-F. I had a machine shop bore the center to 67.1 to fit the Genesis. Which was a good thing cuz I didn’t have to use hub rings. They fit nicely to hub and I don’t have any spacers for them. Had them also custom powder coated. The center caps are OEM G80 sport caps. I just took them off their bases as they were too small for my actual wheel. I just siliconed them on my center caps that are already on the wheels. I think it turned out perfect.

New shoes. I had Cooper CS5 Ultra Touring 245/45/R18's and only got 38K miles of the 70K warranted miles. I went with Continental Control Contact Sport SRS 235/50/R18's. Very noticeable difference in handling with the different size - I'm trying to decide if it's a "good" difference or not.

Replaced my front emblem due to the decal getting messed up. Also replaced the deck lid handle with a new one. The first took 4 hours due to a blunder on my part and the latter took about 30 minutes.

Just replaced the gear in my driver side mirror. It was completely shattered! Why would Hyundai cheap out on that?

Got my Brake rotors and brake pads done. Also installed my new to me G4Werkz rear spoiler. Also got a pedal commander and installed LED underglow for fun.

Have bought K&N drop in filters which I plan to install over the weekend.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I finally received my GDS VCI diagnostic tool. The GDS software and VCI device works, but I got a dud OB2 cable based off the device tester. So I am waiting for an replacement cable from the seller. I also purchased a hard to find OEM Genesis DH GDS software update pack DVD set. It has all the older 2015 service data on it; which is what i need for my 2015. Now I am ready to tackle any module related issue with my soon to be out of warranty Genesis with 86k miles.

I installed the GDS software on a older HP Probook 4535s I had sitting around that has other diagnostic software programs from other cars as well.

Owners of 2015+ Genesis models should just save their money by not buying the GDS VCI units sold by Chinese distributors online. The newer Genesis ECU seems to only work with GDS units only if they have an firmware 2.30 or higher update; however the update render the cheap GDS unit useless. The newer updates also requires a new dealer code that the cheap unit sellers does not provide. The cheap units use an old dealer code. The cheap GDS unit with the 2.20 firmware may work on older pre-2015 Genesis, but not the 2015 and newer models.

The one good thing I got from this purchase is that I do have some updated service information from the GDS software, but the tool itself is useless. The service data alone is not worth $120. The data cable is not the issue on why the VCI unit does not connect to my Genesis; it is the firmware. I am trying to get a full refund now.

Note: There is some workarounds available online to get a cheap GDS to work with the 2.30 firmware, however I will just cut my losses and buy a high end Launch brand scan tool that can program keys and control modules that work on all my cars.

This is the screen you get when you try to update the GDS software and firmware. It asks for a current dealer code that is not provided.
