  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What did you do with your DH Genesis today?

It wasn't too bad, these are RGP LEDs from DiaodeDynamics so I change them to yellow when we have fog in the area, works out well!
Nice. Thanks for the details. Diode Dynamics sells excellent stuff, in my experience.

Ohhh, I've been trying to figure out how/where I could install the fog/driving lights my car didn't come with. Behind the grille! Of course! 👍🏻
Or you could put them in the factory knockouts where they would normally go - which are much closer to the ground and will actually light up the road surface as intended?

Fogs are next on mine.

That would be my ideal but I was thinking it might be hard to find lights that perfectly fill the factory cutouts without overhanging...but maybe that's not necessary? Does anybody know if it would be easy to install them there without putting the car on a lift (and, ideally, without having to pull the bumper)?

There are plenty of oem fog lights you can buy online. I added to my car and put a switch right above the fuse box in that blank area there. I like them because I can run them even with high beams on.

Agreed with surprisinguy - just get the OEMs. They fit perfectly and they work reall ywell.

So what wiring harness did you use or did you make one yourself just for the fogs to the switch?

IMG-20240502-WA0001.webpI sold the G80 and bought a G70 I have K&N drop in filter, red paddle shifters, and a rear spoiler for sale if anyone interested. I'm located in Rhode Island.IMG-20240502-WA0002.webp

Not today (I guess I'm just not one to mod the car and then race inside to post what I did, lol), but day before yesterday I took out the Sylvania LED DRLs/directionals and the troublemaking resistors (also Sylvania) and replaced them with Auxbeam B21 Series 1157 Switchback LED Bulbs with built-in resistors and cooling fans. They don't switchback in my car (my theory is that cars that come stock with incandescent bulbs don't have the circuitry necessary to do the switchback thing), but they're crazy bright and don't hyperflash either. Both the manufacturer and Amazon warned me that these bulbs are not compatible with the 2015 Genesis Sedan, and both were mistaken. Non-switchbacking aside (which I don't miss since I never had it in the first place), they work perfectly.

Finally sold mine. :)
Congrats! 🎈 I know you've been less than thrilled with it for some time. What's replacing it?

I opted for a much more economical '24 Hyundai Elantra. Has all the safety stuff and convenience items I need for my day to day life and best of all, I filled up Saturday from near empty to full for $26. Genesis was usually double that and done more often.

I think EdP went that route as well.

What I would miss the most is the quietness of the car while driving. How do you feel the interior noise compares to the G80?

You're giving me ideas. Although after owning this car I think I'd have to "downgrade" to a Sonata. I've liked those cars for years.

Noise of course isn't to the caliber of the Genesis line but it's more than acceptable.

The new Sonata's are amazing but were out of our budget range.

I haven't actually been able to enjoy much of the apparently famous quiet Genesis ride; my tires are quite loud except on the smoothest of roads. : / And I live in New York State, where smooth roads are just this side of non-existent.
