  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What did you do with your DH Genesis today?

Nice work getting the body work done after the accident. I'm surprised your fender liners are rubbing holes by the stock 18 inch wheels and tires.
I was surprised to see it too. I'd like to figure out the root cause of it, but from preliminary looks, everything  seems to be in order. It possibly could be from maybe some missing retaining clips (I know that's not the correct name but I'm drawing a blank) allowing the liner to sway freely while driving. I'll look more into it this weekend if I have the time.

Ahh, gotcha, I guess I'll be adding one once it arrives lol It has 43k.
You can do CRC valve cleaning, or wait till the car reaches 75k miles and take it to get walnuts valve cleaning.

1000000501.webpReplaced my front Left fender liner and changed the oil. I tell you what, taking that liner out was easier than putting it back in. I did my front brakes a few weeks ago when I removed the old fender liner; I need to do my rear brakes now at some point.

The front fender liners are very flexible which make installing them a pain. The trick I used to install my front fender liners was to first line up the fender liner mount holes with the protruding threaded mounts; since the protruding threaded mounts can actually hold the liner in place on one side while I start placing the plastic rivet clips.

Yeah that's what I wound up doing after about 10 minutes of wondering if I got sent the wrong part, lol. I was surprised how much quieter the engine is now, definitely an improvement.

Today I traded in the my 2015 Genesis 5.0 Ultimate with just over 90k miles for a 2020 Alfa Romeo Giulia Ti sport Q4 AWD. It has been a fun time on the forum. Very nice and helpful members in this forum which will be missed.

Here is pics of my new ride.

Beautiful color combo!

Beautiful color combo!
Thank you.

I had to jump on this Giulia Ti Q4 sport when I saw it. It have everything I wanted except navigation and the limited slip, but it does not need the LSD since the AWD system is very good at keeping the car from slipping. I also like that it does not have the active suspension, so now I can buy some Bilstein shocks when I upgrade the suspension.

The Ti Q4 is just as quick to 0-60 as my old 5.0 Genesis, but is a lot more funnier to drive. However, my old Genesis is very nice as well. When I pulled up the dealership the salesman was on me before I got out of the Genesis and locked the door. I was able to trade the Genesis really easy for what I wanted as it was washed and that metallic black paint just popped in the sun. Heck my old Genesis looked so good that I thought about keeping it until I test drove the Giulia. I was hooked after the test drive and knew that I was taking the Giulia home with me.

I will still pop in from time to time to see if I can answer any questions about the Genesis that I may know and to see what is new with you guys.:)

I've enjoyed reading about your Genesis adventures. I've recently started looking at other vehicles and I saw a Giulia driving the other day that looked really nice. I hadn't paid any attention to them before. Have you found a good forum for the Giulia yet?

Just got around to replacing the trunk latch switch cover. After reading several posts showing how to remove the rubber cover, it went without a hitch. I bought the OEM part from Ali Express and I recieved it in 12 days.
I figure I saved a few hundred dollars doing it myself. This is definitely a DIY job.

Thank you.

I found a very good Alfa Romeo forum with tons of information.

The Giulia has strong aftermarket support and DIY owner support. I am already ordering an Squadra ecu tuner (not piggy back, but an actual tune on a tablet) for the car to really open up the performance. Owning a Giulia is basically like owning a VW GLI or GTI.

The Giulia is not perfect, but it drives so well that you forgive it little quirks.:)
