  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What do you want Genesis to do?

What's your vision for Genesis? The brand... What would you like to see them do? A new car? A new CUV? A new EV? What? High performance? Ultra luxury? What can Genesis do that would make you say, "Wow! I'm proud to be a Genesis owner - and I'm going to remain loyal forever."?
Longer range. Wireless Android Auto. Waze on heads up display. Fix the Wireless charger from over heating my phone. Fix the the Crooked HUD...I have adjusted as much as I can.

(GV70) Change the sunroof "close" button mechanic to require "two full presses" for the screen instead of a microscopic detent following the "close sunroof" initial press, which I invariably exceed unless tapping the button with surgically precise pressure.

Shucks I thought this was only me that happened to. I have yet to master this technique, luckily for me I do not like sunroofs so opt not to open it fully, yet still want the light from the cover opened.

When I read complaints about problems that dealers can't seem to fix, I wonder if Genesis has a service problem escalation procedure that dealers can use to get help from "floating" senior service technicians. I know other dealers of other brands do. Also I think they should have a well defined and easily accessible way for a customer to inform corporate of problems that dealers can't resolve.

Minor but annoying is the inability to set the climate controls to a default setting that are remembered when the car s started. When I start my GV70 EV, Now that it's winter, I have to select driver's seat heat and press twice to reduce heat, select steering wheel heat and press once to reduce heat, select driver only if I had a passenger the prior trip, and select internal air.
Ditto on: Auto lock when you are 10 feet away.

Yes, they do. I don't know the procedure but I've seen it in action when an engineer got involved with an issue.

If you want Genesis to be recognized as a wonderful choice in vehicles, please provide your buyers with great customer service and accessibility to get their questions answered by providing contact information on your website. I am so disappointed with Genesis service and the lack of possibly communicating with the executive team. I guess they don't care. Honestly, I will probably not get another Genesis and definitely won't recommend, no matter how beautiful it is.

I've had better service from lower quality car dealerships. Sad but true.

Is this what your are looking for?
Consumer Assistance Center
Just today I contacted Genesis customer service to complain about warranty repair that took 3 months.
They accepted my complain and told me that the case worker will contact me next 3-5 business days.

In my experience, Genesis Customer Care is good at assigning a case worker and handing out case numbers. Beyond that, they were useless. Good luck.

I don't argue.
The agent, who took my complain, told me that dealership is independent business and they don't have a control over it.
The previous man asked for contact information on Genesis site.
So I gave it to him.
Genesis service, including Genesis finance, sucks, and this is a fact.
It was a nightmare to buyout my leased G70.
Every time I called Genesis Finance they gave me different buyout price ( 3 months before lease end).
Close the deal took me 1+ month.

Now Delray Genesis in Florida has my car for warranty repair for THREE months.
They don't give me an estimate repair time, "We don't know" is their answer.
This is absolutely unacceptable.
I love my G70, it's an excellent car.
But I would not recommend it only because of shitty service.

If Genesis wish to take piece of luxury segment they MUST change their way to provide service as it should be for luxury customers.
Every forum member agree that Genesis dealerships must be separated from Hyundai.

Actually, focus on improving aspects of their current experience that are really not what they should be for a luxury vehicle. Here are some examples…

1) Split off Genesis brand into separate dealers. The vehicle experience is pretty high end…the Hyundai dealership experience not so much.
2) Much more frequent updates to the software to enhance the experience and fix bugs. The side mirrors still don’t return to the normal position after backing up on my profile (the second one). No issue on my wife’s profile. The last software update gave us sleep sounds?! Who was the idiot that thought this was important to prioritize.
3) Profile should be connected to the key fob and automatically change based on which fob is in the vehicle when it is started. And if both are in there a screen pops up to ask which profile you want to use and it is applied quickly (takes way too long right now)

I agree that high quality service is key. Genesis vehicles are terrific but people will stop purchasing/leasing them if it doesn't get the service end correct. I came from the BMW world and they do have their service end locked up; I always could bring my car right in and they always had loaners for me. But few, if any, auto manufacturers provide executive contact information and I don't see Genesis doing that. Sometimes one can decipher the email address from the format used by lower level employees. I did that, for example, with my cell phone and exchanged emails with the CEO (complimentary I might add). Quality service, no long waits for appointments, and availability of equivalent Genesis loaners would do it for me.

Fortunately, so far my dealer, Genesis of Scottsdale, has performed admirably although the service department is with the Hyundai dealership (they moved the showroom to a high end mall a few miles away).

I was going to get a Lucid Air before I found and acquired the GV60P. I was and still am on the Lucid forum. One thing Lucid has done is that a Lucid employee monitors the forum and intercedes when necessary (the monitor sends private messages to the individuals). That would be great if Genesis would have someone do that.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!

They have been working on that since about 2015. There are many threads here about it and the legal battles and franchise laws. They are very away of what needs to be done.

Bad dealership experience is killing the brand.
Now I regret that I got Genesis.
I love my Genesis, but frustration dealing with dealership killing that love.
If I have to make decision now I would go with Lexus.

That is SOME dealers. There are good ones out there. I liked mine enough to buy another car from him, as did my son.

I just took delivery of a 2023 Genesis G70 Sport Prestige 3.3T. I have had 5 previous Lexus and this was really a step out of my comfort zone but I grew weary of Genesis not having a nie looking, well powered sport sedan. They have nothing to compete with the G70 value wise.

Now, I am concerned about the dealership. That was one nice thing about lexus, they were always nice and the service was always excellent. I hear they are beginning to build stand alone dealerships and I hope they do. If they want to compete in this segment it has to be a full experience. If I paid $90K for my loaded G90 and the car is nicer than the dealership itself, I'm pissed LOL.

Hopefully you will have a nice dealership in your area.
I still have my car in their repair shop.
Now it's over THREE months for warranty repair, noise in rear differential.
Every time they tell me a different story.

1. We have an emergency situation in our shop.

2. We just got the differential and are ready to put it on your car, just waiting for available mechanik or lift.

3. We are waiting approval from Genesis to do such an expensive work.

So, I hired a lawyer to proceed with a low suit for warranty breach.
It's a nightmare.
For everyone who reads it, stay away from Delray Genesis.

Can you imagine how pissed I'm?
It's like, you bought a first class ticket, and on boarding they put you in economy class, telling you they are overbooked or this type of the plane doesn't have the first class at all.

Specifically for the G70:
  1. Just change the pads from factory. That's all I want.
  2. Figure out why whoever made your sunroof/installs it causes it to rattle all the time.
  3. Fire whoever came up with the dark chrome coating material composition...you're costing a lot of parts departments a lot of labor and money needing to replace all of it.
  4. Promote whoever designed the car, the interior, the engine, the "cool" convenience features.

Random one I keep forgetting to post unless it's raining/wet outside... PUT PROPER SPRAY HEADS ON THE WINDSHIELD WASHER NOZZLES!!

Seriously - the spray pattern is ridonkulous. I have driven many VERY inexpensive (by comparison) vehicles which have SPECTACULAR spray coverage. The ones on my GV70 look like they forgot to put tips on or something. It comes out like the engine bay is doing something between a watery projectile vomit and a sinus infection sneeze. A purposely forceful well directed fan-like spray which produces an emotionally overwhelming 7 colour rainbow with unicorn glitter is all I ask.

Same on the Kia EV6. I suspect it's the same part 🫠

I am on the fence about whether to get a Kia, Genesis, or go German next time, but like the other poster with the GV60 Standard, the lack of customization feels more offputting on a premium brand than on a mainstream one like Kia (I didn't mind the sunroof but would have preferred 19" wheels for longer range. BMW offer wheel size choices!)
