If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Does anybody know the inlet and outlet size of a stock muffler on a 2009 4.6 v8 with the stock exhaust and if the offset of the inlet and outlet is staggered or straight? I'm trying to order a Dynomax VT muffler but my Genesis has not arrived yet so I can't look to see :(

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Try searching the board. There are at least 5 topics on mufflers, including the Dynomax

Thanks, I did exactly that before posting but nobody mentions the size of the stock muffler. There is metion of using a 2.5" inlet with a magnaflow exhaust system but I don't know if the stock exhaust is the same size.

Did you install the Dynomax VT on your Genesis? I have the 2011 4.6 and was condidering doing the same, leaving the rest of the exhaust stock and just replacing the mufflers. Any issues with the install? Do you like the sound? Any perfomance increase? What tips did you use?

Thanks

I have a magnaflow setup, but I can't remember the inlet/outlet or if it's staggered. It's been some time now. I'll have to get under it and check it. I haven't dyno'd it since the change from straight pipes (the drone from those were annoying!). If I can get back on the project to finish up the exhaust system, I'll probably fabricate and sell the kit with that Magnaflow muffler.

I have offset inlets and outlets for the 2 MagnaFlow mufflers I'm running. This would probably work best, but an exhaust shop could probably work with whatever you decide to purchase.
