  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hello guys!

I'm new to the forum and this is my first post! I plan on learning more and more as I go and spreading info when I can.

I have a question though. I'm not a mechanic by any means, but I am a DIYer and a car enthusiast. So, anybody can chime in if they know what hose this is as I am completely clueless. However, I changed my serpentine belt today and noticed a lot of leaking under my car. I went under my car and I sourced the leak coming from this hose:

Is this normal? I dont want to keep driving if it is not normal. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. BTW the car is a 2010 Hyundai Genesis 2.0T Manual Trans. Thank you.

Tranny coolant line hoses? Does it run to the radiator?

No, it doesn't. Is it supposed to? If you look at the picture, it's roughly about 3-5 inches and it doesn't seem like its connected to anything. it seems like it has either been cut or it's designed to be some type of "drop off". I'm not sure.

Don't have a coupe but guessing by it's location that it is some sort of condensation drain from the A/C or cowl area. Test what is dripping from that hose and it will give you the answer.

Looks like the condensate drain for your A/C evaporator

Since you're in Calif., you must be using your A/C

If the substance coming out is nice clear water, then that is almost for sure what its is.

Usually when you drive your car during hot humid wx, after parking it, then a few tablespoons of condensate will be dumped.

Actually, it's a great functional test as to how your A/C is functioning.
