  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What is your biggest complaint about the Hyundai Genesis?

Yeah the gas mileage is pretty bad lol. 2 months in with mostly highway driving and I am getting 17 mpg as well. Oh well.

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I just checked after a fill-up yesterday, mostly highway, cruising around 60mph in cooler weather and it worked out to 29mpg. The dash indicator is just that, an indicator. Do the math to get a realistic figure and keep your big right foot out of it ... <G>

what would be your biggest complaint about your Genesis?
The two complaints I have on my 2014 Gensesis is that one cannot shut off the daytime running lights and if possible just leave the eyebrow lights on, like other manufacturers...
The second one is not having enough storage room in the consule or front door panels. Remember the reference books take up a lot of room

My Biggest complaint on my 2014 Genesis Sedan 3.8 is the rattling noise I have when I go over bumps...It sort of sounds like plastic bouncing against plastic somewhere on the inside..

Definitely coming from the dash area and started after I hit a pothole on the right side..

The 12 mpg I get is probably from doing nothing but city driving...

This is my first luxury car...

1) On my second tank and only getting 20mpg
2) The front and rear parking sensors should be lower
3) Should have come with blind spot detectors
4) I would of loved a wooden wheel

I love the car and drives great, just a few things I've noticed

Completely agree on both of these items. These are about the only complaints I have on my 2014. I like the look of the LED lights but the daytime running lights ruins it....

I put my owners manuals in the trunk. Needed to get them out of the cabin. I actually placed them under the trunk floor in with the spare tire. No need to have them in the passenger compartment as I cannot recall the last time I actually got them out for anything.

My only major complaint is that I cannot manually add phone numbers to my contact list (2013 premium and tech). The system only allows me to download them out of my phone. This wouldn't be a problem except that my Genesis can't access my contact list on my phone. (I could always buy a different phone, but......)
Reading the DIS manual, I believe that the "Premium" option allows this manual addition, but not with the "Tech" DIS option.
I assume that this also applies to late model V8's also (because of the DIS system)

2014 5.0
iPod connection SUCKS. Never use it.
Slow transmission shifting, up and down.
That's it. LOVE the car!

Poorly aimed headlights. No fog lights on the 3.8 Ultimate. I recently let go of a 1988 Volvo that had fog lights front and rear. No excuse Hyundai

As far as I know rear fog light is European thing in countries like Britain and those Scandinavian countries where they have a lot of fog days.

-Info screen does not continually show A/C settings AND radio settings at same time.
-Lack of info available on the display, i.e. tire pressures, oil temp., trans temp...GM and Dodge rental cars that i drive have this info available.
-Cannot simply delete radio station presets...you have to replace the channel with another, or duplicate a channel that you already have.
-Slow throttle response from idle...this is really annoying.
-Electric glitches, i.e. backup camera flicker or failure to come on, nanny warning failing to disappear after pushing the button to acknowledge, radio not coming on, seat not moving to preset locations, etc. Turning the car off and back on usually fixes it, but too many glitches.
Love the performance though.

I cannot for the life of me, figure out how to get the wipers in the vertical position for the times I am washing it. I tried what the owners manual says, but the wipers will not go vertical position, right after I turn the engine off and push the stalk upwards. I wish they were designed like the ones on my Elantra, just flip them up and they are out of the way.

2010 4.6 here. Electrically the car is the worst. Drives great but electrically I have a lemon. Back in the shop tomorrow with a check engine light problem.

This and the "unlock all doors from the handle button" are literally the two coolest things I've learned about this car on the internet. :p

What do you mean? 'splain Lucy.
