  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What rides like a Genesis

I have a 2010 4.6 with Tech Pkg. I have had the car 4 weeks and now have 2750 miles on the car. We had been a Lexus LS owner for the past ten years. Traded my wifes 2003 LS430 in on the 4.5. Just got back from four days in the NC mountains which included many switchbacks coming back down the mountains.

Observations:
1. I am thrilled with the suspension in the 2010-build date April 2010. This car rides great and provides just enough feedback to make you feel comfortable putting it in to tight mountain turns.
2. My wife's Lexus LS 430 floated down the highway almost as bad as a Caddilac!! The Genesis ride is always firm yet not harsh.
3. The stereo is the best I have ever had in a car. Hands down beats the Lexus stock radio in the LS430.
4. The DIS/Nav system I find is easy to use and has not caused me any problems. The chosen route to take me back from Highlands, NC to Wilmington, NC was the best and shorest route to take.
5. Most important-people keep turning their heads as I blast by them to try and figure out what type of car I have.

The net of this is that I feel that I made a great decision. Lexus wanted $48,000 for a 2008 Lexus 460 with 40,000 miles. I paid $39,000 out the door for a car that as far as I am concerned, has almost equal quality and clearly more vlaue for the dollar.

I find it amazing that the high-end system is so problematic - I'd be really upset too. Any chance you can lemon the whole car?

Unfortunately, I had to resort to hiring a Lemon Law attorney. HMC has been amazingly, stupifyingly resistant to offering any real relief with my issues. It's a shame, really - a 100K mile warranty is useless if the company backing it drags their feet.

What, exactly, are you guys proposing the lemon claim on? The fact that the suspension isn't actually working? Are you bottoming out the shocks? Is the car jumping 6 feet in the air after passing over a bridge-expander? It's one thing to claim Hyundai isn't living up to the terms of their warranty - it's another to claim that with a straight face when your only complaint is "I don't like the suspension"...

Its not the suspension, its the Lexicon system in the Tech package version of the car.

Thread drift, it happens. I don't have a problem with the suspension on my Genesis.

My Lemon Law claim is based on 10 attempts (9 failed) to repair warranted items, and on more than 8 months of substantially impacted use of the vehicle. My Lexicon Radio/Nav/DVD/etc has failed time after time. The amplifier has been replaced 4 times, and the head unit replaced once. I still have the same issues after 8 months, and HMC is doing absolutely nothing about it - so I resorted to an attorney.
