This forum is under "
General 2009-2014 Hyundai Genesis Sedan Discussion". 2gen, 2015 and up should publish in a different group. People with 1gen, 2009-2014, do not have any of these features or even buttons.
I tried summarizing what people found, and what works for my 2011, 4.6 with "everything":
• Trunk "lock" button in the glove compartment -
DIDN'T find it
• Reducing the air pressure in my tires have made the ride mucho bettero !!!! True for any car, but shortens the tire life
• If you hold down the forward/reverse buttons on the steering
wheel, it changes to the next frequency -
Works!
• When backing up, the right setting will force the right mirror down. If set to the left it will force both mirrors down -
DIDN'T work. In the middle no tilt; if on any side, both sides tilt
• Mute - push down for a couple of seconds on the "MODE" button on the left side of the steering
wheel -
True
• Scan Presets - Works
• Tiny red tail-lights illuminate in the small illustration of a car's rear end in the center display area -
Works on 2012 and up
• To mute the audio, just push down on the controller - You have to be on any of the audio modes. Pushing the volume button does the same
• Front full display off" (black) or "Display off" (partial off) -
DIDN'T find it
• Waypoint entry in the nav -
Works! Press down > select "show rout" > Options > Waypoint
• If you hit the "Disp" button on the steering
wheel you have a new nav option that isn't there when navigation isn't running. It displays the "next step" information including street name, direction and distance -
DIDN'T work
• Approached my car at night in a dark parking lot, light under the rearview mirrors lit up -
No such light on 2011
• The nav system learned/memorized our route for the trip back -
Works
• When you first put it in reverse and the backup camera comes on, a little icon appears. Push that icon and the camera will point almost straight down -
Not on my 2011
Found 2 more on mine:
• While in "Map" screen, tap the map button shortly and it'll display the exact address where you are ("
Where am I")
• I entered a DVD into the changer; as long as the car is in parking the DVD show the full video on screen.
Is there there a way to bypass that?
Does it mean there's a video-in the HU? Can we divert it to mirroring the phone?
