For the radio controls thing: I've thought about it and the way they have it oriented makes absolute perfect sense to me; I'm impressed that they thought about it and designed as such. Here's my best shot at explaining why they did it they way that they did:
For those that don't know what this is talking about: when the radio control screen is visible on the infotainment screen, and you press the "tune"
wheel up on the steering
wheel, the radio moves "down" a preset channel (from 3 to 2 to 1). When the radio control screen is not visible and you press the "tune"
wheel up, the radio moves "up" a preset channel (from 3 to 4 to 5). A lot of people have said this is backwards and doesn't make sense.
It makes perfect sense and here's why: your television is the same way!!! When the TV guide (radio control screen) is visible, and you press channel up (tune
wheel up) the channel moves "down" (3 to 2 to 1) because we have a visual aid that we associate the action of pressing up with moving the selector "up" the list. Vice versa, when the TV guide (radio control screen) is NOT visible, and you press channel up (tune
wheel up) the channel moves "up" (3 to 4 to 5) because we want to go "up" a channel and move to the next channel.
This is impressive to me because they put the thought and design into visual aids vs. perception of what the tune
wheel does depending on what screen is visible. Basically, the
wheel changes function depending on what screen is visible BECAUSE OF HUMAN PERCEPTION. Very smart, Genesis!!!
