  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What things don't you like in the G70?

Hood on my GV70 moves at over 80 MPH

For me, that stupid Park button would be number one. I know a lot of cars have it now, but I think it's a purposeless change from what people are accustomed to and it may be dangerous until drivers adapt.

Number two would be the exhaust note. It could be more aggressive at higher throttle openings without being annoying at lower openings. Now, apparently, it's fairly tame at all throttle positions. That strikes me as out of character for a car with sporting pretensions.

Beyond that, there are things that I find less than ideal but not to such an extent that I think I'd really notice them on an ongoing basis.
Yep PARK button. Dangerous until you get used to it, and then what happens when you use a traditional shifters? Arggg

the park button doesn't bug me. I just turn the car off and it goes into park.

The thing that still vexes me to no end is the freaking auto stop start. Its just so harsh.

Glad my 3.3 doesn't have auto stop/start. I had it in a couple of 2.0 loaners and hated it.

How much more would it have cost to install a fourth enter/exit assist handle on the interior ceiling, above the driver's seat?

My biggest beef with my '22 3.3 is with the trans. When a company gives you the option of 4 driving modes and you choose "Custom" then the shift paddles should be the only way that the car can be driven [until you change the mode]. The way that the car is set up - the trans will always default to full auto every time it is turned off and/or many times while driving at various lower speeds. My car/my choice - not a halfway measure.
Thanks

Why is most of your post "lined out"?

Or is may be safer because it puts the car in Park automatically when you shut the engine down even if you don't push the button the car can't roll. Seemed awkward for the first week or so, now I like it.
My first time driving my wife's new g70 last week, I took it to get tints. As I was backing in the parking spot I thought I shifted into park.. took my hand off the shifter and was looking at the dash for the engine shut off button...then noticed out of the corner of my eye the tree rapidly approaching in the back up cam... Managed to slam on the brakes just short of the tree and realized my mistake but it was a close call. I will say one thing though.. after the first time you forget to hit that park button, you probably won't do it a second time.

Biggest ones for me:

- park button on transmission - not the fact it is a button, but its placement is awkward
- non led rear turn signal - looks cheap
- lack of ambient lighting
- better graphics/options on the screen in the IP (fully digital would be even better but I assume that will come on the next G90/G80 and then to the G70)
- smallish NAV screen (9.2" screen from the G80/90 would be better and there is plenty of room and those cars could use a 12" screen so they can still feel better than the G70 guys :p )
- push button on driver and passenger door handle for keyless entry. Should be on all 4 doors and should be sensor.

Now it is worth mentioning that everything I have listed above is definitely in the minor pet peeve category and if anyone asks, I still love the car and have zero second thoughts regarding buying it. But I like to be critical and all of the items above could be fixed/improved for a cost of about $1K to the price of the car and imo would make it an even better slam dunk compared to the German competition.

Oh, and after almost 8,000km on my 3.3T I feel like it could use some more power sometimes. ;)
Lack of wireless CarPlay. Pretty sure Kia k5s come standard with it now. All third party solutions suck. It’s the one thing that getting MORE annoying with time.

Comically small trunk. Is the rear diff and/or muffler taking up all that space? Either way it’s ridiculous.

Ambient lighting is more of a fomo to me, I have no problem living without it. There is a soft glow from rear view mirror that helps. I don’t need to see my legs to drive. Lol

I've done that at least once myself, luckily caught myself before the car moved much at all. Muscle memory from years of driving other automatics is hard to overcome. I'm not a fan of the button.

You guys hit the park button? I just stop and hit the Start/stop button. Throws itself into park.

That's what I do most of the time.

So what is the purpose of the park button? Are you sure the park button throws it into neutral?

Possibly not, because I bought the car while Covid was still locked away in a lab in Wuhan
BTW- did you know Wuhan is bigger than NYC?

Any other answers out there.?
