  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

What would you trade your Genesis in for?

If you do trade - make sure you get a refund on your extended warranty. Most give you a prorated amount back based on your mileage. Many people do not realize this. Also, same thing if you bought GAP coverage.

A great car for those to whom physics doesn't apply.
In general, this would mean SUV drivers in snow and ice, among others.

I'm going with a 2007 Infiniti M35 with 60k miles. Fully loaded with the lane departure warning, driver and passenger cooled seats, and the intelligence cruise control. Of course those features weren't in the 2009 Genesis'. Dealer is also throwing in the 90k service for free so the next service will not be until 120k miles. He's also giving me $5k back which I plan on using for some customizing.

A new Genesis? A new 7 Series. Maybe even the new '12 Azera if AWD

Streets,

For me the the new AZERA is mighty appealing. That's my next car (AWD of course):D
I had an Azera for 4 years, but when Genesis came along I just couldn't resist. I can't imagine going back to Azera - I liked it, but the RWD Genesis is a whole different thing. I might go for an AWD Genesis, but Azera - I don't think so.

I agree, I think going to an Azera from a Genesis, would be like going from First Class to Coach.

Theres a reason dealers were offering me about 5-6k off list just for being able to frost a mirror. That was before negotiations started, Its not a good sign for resale when they are discounting heavily to get them out the door. Remember these guys sell Elantras all day long...make a deal/blow them out the door. That will be reflected down the line, I think, in resale.

I also had the Azera for 3 years and I would go back to an AZERA but with 2 conditions ONLY:

1. It MUST be AWD
2. The suspension MUST be like the Genesis (Stiff)

The Azera was too floaty-boaty ride for me.

From what I've seen so far on the new Azera, I can't wait to try it.

Equus!!

Well, I just got it and it will be based on my first 2 years of experience in my new Genny. If things go well, another Genesis (may be V6 coupe next time).

Priviouse cars owned.
03 MBZ S430 (Yes, I traded in my S class for my Genesis and I am very happy).
07 ES330

92 Q45
90 MAXIMA
86 CONQUEST Tsi

I had many hate comments on the youtube for saying positive things about the Genesis. Most people who never experience Genesis or new Sonata do not seem to understand how good the Genesis is, and what Hyundai cars have accomplished over the years. Stay in touch guys!

I love my Genesis and don't plan on trading it in for a few years. If I had to replace it due to theft, a natural disaster, or an accident, I would probably buy another new Genesis.

However, I would also consider:

2011 Kia Optima Turbo SX with premium and technology packages: Navigation system with back-up camera; Panoramic sunroof; Heated and cooled front seats; Heated rear seats; Heated steering wheel; 4 Cyl 2.0 L Turbo; Torque = 269 ft-lbs. @ 1750 rpm; Horsepower = 274 @ 6000 rpm; Xenon headlights; Invoice = $28,690; MSRP = $30,840

2011 Kia Cadenza

2012 Hyundai Azera

I will be looking very hard at the 2012 5.0 Genesis... my original plan was to drive the 09 till at least 100k (should be there in less than a year)... but it still drives like new... I am usually ready to swap after 2 years but I don't have that urge to buy now....

I'll buy your car from you.. I don't mind.

$25k for an 09 Genesis with Tech package sounds good to me! lol
