  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Whats the G70 pricing already !!

I was at a G70 launch event for Downtown Genesis in Toronto. Had a chance to talk to Patrick Danielson, product planner for Genesis Canada, about the G70. He advised me that all sport models will be coming with Michelin PS4 and not the PS4s. I was a little disappointed, but the PS4 should be fine for the street driving.

I attached the different trim options for the G70 in Canada. There is a typo on the rear tires for the sport trims. It lists them as 255/40/19, but they should be coming with 255/35/19.

Interesting note, was that the 2.0T Sport will be coming with a manual handbrake. Patrick was even able to show me a picture of the manual shiftier and handbrake for the 2.0 Sport.:D
I was also told that the 2.0T Sport will be coming with a bespoke exhaust that will have more crackle and burbles and will be louder than other G70 exhaust.

I have a 3.3T Sport on order, but the 2.0T Sport is also looking good Can't wait until they are available for test drives so I can make a decision. I was told the first shipment should be available late April. Unfortunately, the 2.0T Sport will not be available until summer.

Why on earth would they have a sportier more aggresive sounding exhaust on a lower trim with smaller engine, i dont understand the logic if this is true

The 2.0T sport is catered to the auto enthusiast that wants to shift gears manually. Having a more aggressive exhaust for this trim makes sense to me.

I still prefer the sound of the 3.3T, anyway. :D Slightly more aggressive exhaust doesn't necessarily make the 2.0T better sounding than the 3.3T. The G80 5.0 has a tame exhaust and it wipes the floor in overall sound with the 2.0T and 3.3T!

You are right. Nothing like the rumble from a V8. I get to experience every time I start my E63 wagon.

Made this account just to.post this. So I spoke with a Genesis dealer in San Antonio, Tx who told me they are.scheduled to have them on the floor between Apr and Jun of this year. Additionally, he said they will start at 29k and a fully loaded G70 will be 40k. So take that how you want. I had to ask twice cause I was surprised but he doubled down on it. As far as I know this hasn't been confirmed anywhere. So just wondering what you guys think of this?

Can't believe that a fully loaded G70 will be $10 - $12K less than an equivalent Stinger.

Even if that is us dollars it still only coverts to about 52000 which seems low to me

Maybe hes' in the US?
I am in the US. I don’t if I totally believe it but I clarified a couple of times on the phone both regarding release date and price. I don’t know if it was a tactic to keep me talking or what but I’m probably gonna call around to a couple other dealership to see what they have to say.

I suspect he is talking about the G70 with the 2.0 Turbo engine. The one with a 3.3 TT maybe called a G70 Sport or something. Plus, those prices may include some level of discounts from MSRP that the dealer assumes will be offered.

Which dealer did you speak to? Hell I'd fly to San Antonio to pickup fully loaded G70 for 40k tomorrow.

1. Not available in the USA yet.

2. $40K is probably a fully loaded 2.0 T, not the 3.3 TT version.

Stinger prices range from $31,900 - $49,200, plus $900 shipping.

I suspect that G70 3.3 TT fully loaded will be close to $50,000. $40,000 is probably a filly loaded 2.0 T.

Yeah, my thought too. I just can't imagine the 3.3 AWD G70 going for that price. They'd sure sell a bunch of them if they priced that aggressively but it seems doubtful. The other possibility is that "fully loaded" doesn't mean what we think it does, doesn't include all of the features we associate with the car, kind of like what happened to the Stinger.

Red Mccombs Superior Genesis. Please feel free. Maybe they were yanking my chain.

Anything a car salesman says, and what is actually true, is purely coincidental. Believe it or not, most car salesman are not car nuts, and don't really care what the price is until they have units are on the lot and ready to sell. The sales guy probably heard someone talking about it, and got confused about prices for the G70 2.2 T fully loaded, vs a G70 3.3 TT fully loaded.

There is no use trying to guess what the price is. Just wait until it is released.

3-series starts at 35k
Stinger starts at 32k

Should be safe to say that the G70 base price will be somewhere in there.

I mean if you look at the prices between the g80 and g90 there is no overlap whatsoever so I guess it wouldn’t be wrong to assume they would want the same thing for the g70 vs g80.

If you are not right, you are very close to it. Azera tops out at a but over 40k but starts out just about where Sonata Limited leaves off. I can see overlap with an optional engine or other high priced option getting a bit, but not too far over a base G80

That's because even the base trim G90's are very well equipped.

I suspect there will be some overlap between a base G80 ($41,750) and a fully loaded G70 with 3.3 TT. The top of the line Kia Stinger is $49,200.

It seems like some hard info should be available fairly soon, no? Time is approaching when they were supposed to be making the cars available. Even with a revised release date of June or so, you'd think they would have determined pricing by now. Maybe they're waiting for some auto show reactions and results of Stinger's marketing to determine how likely customers are to show interest? Honestly, I think a lot of this is like Tarot cards -- somebody makes a WAG and puts it on the window sticker. Within 6 months or so, any corrections that are needed are put into effect. Sales low? Offer steeper discounts below MSRP. Sales brisk? Bump up MSRP for the next model year.
