  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Whats the G70 pricing already !!

G70s are on the boat and on their way to Canada so exciting times for those that pre-ordered!

Is there any news on why the delay in the USA? Is there a dealership issue going on, etc?

No delay that I can see. It was promised for later.

Well...delay in the sense that Canada is about to get cars soon...and there is ZERO info in the US. When are they coming? Pricing? Quite annoying.

I think the reasons were pretty much covered in other threads. Basically the US has different rules for dealerships, and finishing how the US would be set up delayed things.

Also, the number of dealers in the USA is higher, and more new cars to each dealer, and the trim levels are probably different (more RWD in USA, and other differences. In the USA, they have to fill the channel before they can release cars for sale, so that advertising can begin when dealers have inventory. There are a lot more logistical problems for doing that in the USA than in Candada.

"advertising can begin when dealers have inventory" is not always true I've seen plenty of new models over the years both foreign and domestic that were advertised but not orderable yet. Some I've bought myself where the car was officially announced but I couldn't order it for several weeks until actual production began. Then had to wait again as it went thru QA.

However this situation is particularly unique because we have a car company trying to separate itself at the same time introduce new models. So is Genesis trying to do some sort of "Grand Opening" in the US introducing the NEW Genesis dealership which in this case they may want at least one new G70 sitting on the floor for people to see.......

A good recent example of this, in Canada anyway, was the Hyundai Elantra GT which had tons of TV advertising (in complete contrast to the Elantra Sport which had none or nothing I saw) long before inventory was at dealers.

A couple of weeks may not be a big deal. But if a company is advertising too much before availability, they may be wasting a lot of money. That is not to say that some don't waste money on advertising, but that it is not usually wise to do so. Sometimes, a company may want to create a buzz long before the car is available, but that can be expensive.

I also explained that it takes a lot longer to load the channel (make sure all dealers have the car) in the USA than in Canada (where there are really only 3 major cities, Vancouver, Montreal, and Ontario). Probably all the initial Canada versions will fit on one ship, but it may take multiple ships to do the initial channel load of the G70 in the USA. As already stated, the USA versions are likely slightly different than the Canadian versions, and there may be regulatory or import processes that take longer in the USA.

Just so you know, Edmonton is getting demos before all the Eastern Canada cities! My cars will be here in a week or so.

We may not be as large as Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, but we are one of the biggest metro areas in Canada (over 1.32M metro population which is the 5th largest in Canada) and we have one of the highest number of dealerships per capita in all of North America. The car market is huge here especially due to how sprawled out Edmonton is.

Got an email from my local Genesis Experience Manager saying pricing will be released soon and that the 3.3T Sport should be $57,500. Pre-order lease rates 1.9% for up to 60 months, financing at 1.9% for up to 84 months and $1,000 for cash purchasers. So basically $5,500 more than the equivalent Stinger. Nothing that we haven't heard here but another confirmation.

CR has already commented on one version of the G70, although the thoughts may not yet be in the magazine. It does show on the CR car app. CR says price range $35,000-$50,000, so Genesis apparently has increased that. Perhaps it was an estimate by CR.

That is Canadian pricing. US pricing, let alone the G70's existence itself, hasn't been officially released as of yet.

Actual payments come out on April 2. It keeps on getting delayed for some reason. As I've mentioned before, please feel free to give me a shout if you would like to pre-order as I have more details RE: pricing.

Looks like the US G70 announcement is tomorrow at the New York International Auto Show.

If $57,500 is Canadian pricing and you convert it to US that's $44645.88. Not saying this will be the case since Genesis can decide what to make the US pricing but if true then not bad.

Here is my math...

In Canada...
- G70 3.3T Sport AWD = $57,500 CAD ($44,480 USD)
- G80 3.3T Sport AWD = $62,000 CAD ($47,961 USD)

Difference = $ 4,500 CAD ($ 3,481 USD)

In USA...
- G70 3.3T Sport AWD = $54,481 USD (Guestimate)
- G80 3.3T Sport AWD = $58,745 USD

Just a note that my currency conversion was done a few days ago.

Hopefully I am close :)

Pretty happy I live in Canada!
