  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

i have another post on this site about my problems with my head unit which was basically about the blue tooth not working on my 4.6 v8, to make a long story short they had to replace my head unit with a new one which was sometime around april or may on 2009. Now my problem is when i start the car the Genesis name & badge will appear than dissappear & keep coming on and going off for some time with no response from the head unit at all ( no music & nothing else working) & it will keep coming on & going off for about a good 10 minutes then it will all of a sudden start playing my music & the screen with the warning message will appear. Now this doesnt happen all the time but its happening about 2 to 3 times a month & its very annoying, VERY. Has anyone else have this problem if so please let me know, if this persist i will be contacting Hyundai corp & opening up a case file like i did when my headunit bluetooth was acting up.

Whether or not anyone else is having the problem, it sounds like there's definitely a problem and you should contact your dealer or open a case with HMA.

The Lexicon is a really complex system, it's a relatively new and custom design, and it's made by a third-party supplier (Harman/Becker), so I wouldn't be surprised if it tended to have a higher failure rate or if the default solution would be to replace the components rather than try to isolate and repair.

I have the midlevel Lexicon the the V8 base. It's not the same radio as yours but I had the head unit replaced due to poor AM radio reception, and now I am having the keypad replaced. The XM and CD player work, but the button that controls the AM/FM switch has malfunctioned. This has been the only hiccup in an otherwise stellar car, but yes, I am annoyed.

The blue tooth on my LG cell phone was working fine until the recent software update on the head unit - TSB 09-C0100. My blue tooth stopped working on my LG phone after the update. To make the matter worse, the Province I live in just enacted the law on banning any cell phone use without hands free connection. The service dept said it is the problem of my phone since it works with some other phones like the IPhone:(

This is maybe rather too obvious, but did you "Pair" the phone again after the software update? My guess is the update wiped out the settings in the Head unit so it no longer recognises your phone. Just a thought.
