  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hi everyone, I had my car for oil change and it looks like they changed with the audio settings :( I had set it up according to one of the member recommendation here, but can't seem to find it again. Let me know what setup you run for the 17 speaker.

Surround on, bass +8, mid +3, treble +6

I find the mids very boosted, so lower them. Try that for a while and see if it evens the sound out. I think I use a -3 or -4 for mids with the bass and treble boosted as shown. The treble can get shrill if too boosted and the bass boost will not provide the physical trauma many seek, but helps when near the top. I also find the quality of the input source to be a factor - the ability to tie the custom settings to input source would be nice, as would an EQ with more band settings.

I usually do listen with lowered mids. On this however - most of the vocals disappear when I do that. First system I have found in a while that required more mids. The highs are also just a tad too harsh - but still listenable. If I cut them - then hi-hats, brushes and the like disappear. I am actually thinking to replace the tweets with some higher end jbl or infinity that are still articulate, but smoother. I also have an pair of Genelec studio monitors that I use for parts for my main set have some of the smoothest tweets in it that I have ever heard - and contemplated popping those in to see what happens.

I just turn off the surround sound.

depends on the source material, but generally my default is 4/3/10 surr on

edit - one click forward on fade, I'm 6'5" so I sit so far back that the mid from the backseat is right in my left ear

Stereo is excellent and I usually find I prefer surround on. Bass +1-2 mid 0 and Treble +1. I listen to streaming audio EDM. It totally is dependent on what source and type of music you care for and with surround on or off.

Any suggestion for setting the center? I'll lower the mid and boost the base and terrible. Thanks!

I keep my setting for the seating center, but about +3 to the right to account for the distance of the left speakers vs. the right speakers. The sound is fairly even to my ears in that setting; like wearing head phones. I also just use the surround sound setting since it processes my compressed music fairly well.

Thanks carguy75! I too use surround sound for the same reason. I didn't realize, I just bought my 2017 g80, you could adjust the center speaker. I will continue to make little tweaks to satisfy my musical taste and sports/news taste.

Mine are almost the same except I have the rears increased by 2-3. I listen to 5.1 discs so I want to enhance the surround channels a bit.

Pre sub amp, Surr On, Bass+9, Mid-3, Treb+2, Fr & Rr balance
Post sub amp, Surr On, Bass 0, Mid+1, Treb+3, Fr & Rr balance
The sub amp made a world of difference with the bass, my modern jazz, trip hop, & reggae tracks are sounding real good.
