  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

TSW Vortex:
front 18x8 40 offset 255/45/18 Bridgestones
rear 18x9 35 offset 255/45/18 Bridgestones

because of the offset on the rear, i stayed with the 255/45/18's

exhaust is custom.
removed rear mufflers, installed 2.5 Bullets (like a glass pack) with Schnell Porsche 996 Turbo, quad black chrome tips...came out great!

a little drone inside, but that was to be expected..outside it reminds me of my buddy's twin turbo V8 Audi RS6, in it's stock form.

I wanted a wheel similar to the concave style wheels on some of the late model BMWs

I'm uploading a video to Youtube right now...the video sound isn't great, but it will give you an idea of how it sounds as I pull away.....

give me about 20 minutes for it to be available.

What ya gonna do about your license plate? :)

the license plate expired in 2001...once my real one shows up, it will be swapped out.

it's actually a transfer of that tag, but the way it worked out is I'm getting a regular florida tagged assigned to me, instead of keeping the personalized SLO BMW.

Nice video, I like the squirrel cam angle. The rims are quite tasteful and the tires fill out the wheel wells nicely. A couple of questions:
1. Is your speedo affected by this at all?
2. Are the tires Potenza RE760 Sport?
3. Did you do just the mufflers or cat back system?
4. Any other mods, air intake, headers, etc?

1. 59.5 mph actual when it reads 60, according to the tire calculator i used:http://www.1000rims.com/rt_specs.jsp

2. yes
3.just mufflers and tips
4. no other mods yet...K&N filter on the way

K&N, just the filter element I assume, since I haven't seen an aftermkt kit for the V8 yet. How have the larger tires affected the ride, obviously this is subjective.

yes, drop-in filter....

the tires are not larger, in the sense of circumference. They are two sizes wider though, if that is what you meant.

I can tell a difference in that the car does feel a little more stable. I've heard no increase in tire noise.

STOCK vs 255/45/18 18x9 - 35 offset

circumference 85.7" 84.9"

diameter 27.3" 27.0"

sidewall 4.6" 4.5"

tire width 9.3" 10.0"

tires are 0.2" closer to inside components and 0.6" closer to fender, compared to stock....(these are for the rear wheels)

It looks a lot like a BMW now - are you trying to fool people with those mods and plate?

;)

I think I stated it in your last thread, but I've looked at the TSW Mallorys.

The license plate is a tag transfer from a BMW I owned 8 years ago...it's only on the car until the new replacement (regular Florida plate) comes in the mail>

not trying to look like a BMW, although I really love a lot of the latest BMW factory wheels that resemble these wheels.

I just put Falken EuroWinter tires on a second set of factory rims. I'm not really liking the way they handle so far... but I hope they preform the way they are suppose to when the snow falls.

Did you keep the same size tire on there 235/50R18?

Yup. I'm only using them for winter then putting the factory ones back on. Maybe I just need to get used to them. They could be preforming as designed.

Also, my TPMS sensor is on and I know that I had new sensors put in because the take off rims didn't come with them. I haven't checked my pressure yet though so that could be it.

You wouldn't happen to know what pressure the tires should be at do you?

The cold pressure should be 33 psi. But that of course is an estimate. The temp swings determine a lot. I live in a desert climate the swings are 30-40 degrees. 50 and night 80 during the day. I lived in Boston for 6 years, I know the swings aren't that big there this time of year. Test them in the cold in the morning, set it to 33 and see how it works. Just remember 10 degrees=1psi, up or down.
