  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Without looking, someone backed out in front of me and I pressed hard on the brakes to avoid them. Which I did, however the stereo turned on. This also happened a couple of weeks ago when I was cut off by someone running out of lane.

Do you think something is loose with the stereo connection?

Definitely sounds like a short of some kind. Let the dealer warranty dept worry about it.

My wifes Nissan does the same but it is the telephone blutooth connection that comes on over the speakers! Probably the same cause. Your palm inadvertantly pushes the steering control button. In a tense moment, especially hard braking you most likely push on the steering wheel. :welcome:

I'm sorry but that's too cute. :) Made me smile. Does it go back off when you take your foot off of the brake?

+1 The "Mode" button on the steering wheel will turn on the stereo. So, next time it happens, do a quick hand-check to see if your left hand inadvertently pressed on the Mode button.
