When will the v8 be available

one local dealer (central CA) has told me mid aug,while another says next year.

Hyundai consumer affairs says end of September early October.

I only know of one dealer that has a VIN assigned for a V8, according to him. He expects it to arrive in September. So far this guy looks legit to me.

I wouldn't believe these dealers unless you have a relationship with them. I've had dealers tell me that Hyundai cancelled the V8 and won't be producing them until 2010 model year, then when I tell them thanks, I'm only interested in the V8, they tell me that they will call me when they get the V8s in a few weeks. They are trying to sell you what they have. Just watch where you step in these dealerships.

My experience is it is very hard to find any accurate info about the V8.

Just watched a Korean News about 2 days ago, in Korea, it's the vacation time, and they showed the Hyundai factory with no-one but a set of large fans that are just sitting there waiting for the workers to return, followed by some parts companies, whose workers will also be going vacation next week or so, so I guess they are pretty much not making any cars for the time being, and I think they will resume in about 3 weeks or so, so I guess the V8 will be delayed a little. I assume it will be something like Mid to late August to maybe September.
