  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Where are the 2010 Genesis Sedans being sold?

Here in St. Louis I stopped by Suntrup Hyundai yesterday. They had five 2010 models on the back lot but the ones in the showroom and out front were 2009 models. Their phone number used to be 314-591-0500.

According to www.autotrader.com, St. Charles Automotive in St. Peters (a St. Louis suburb) has one 2010 4.6 sedan and two 3.8 2010 sedans.

See two V8's on eBay. Located in Shawnee, Kansas. Both priced slightly under 40K.

The OP didn't specify what he's looking for, V6 or V8, Tech or no. That said, Pugi in Downers Grove gets a 4.6 w/no Tech (White Cashmire) tomorrow, a 3.8 Premium Plus on Wed. (Black/Black), and a 4.6 w/Tech in 10 days. The Sales Manager said he's willing to go below MSRP, but obviously not as much as the '09.
Also of potential interest: the remaining '09's are soon to get special pricing. No specifics, but my impression is the company is supplying that (not the dealers).
Anyway, OP, ask for Dave Novak and mention this board or post. He won't screw around with you.

Thanks very much for the tip to call Pugi! I talked with the Dave Novak on the phone today. I will summarize by saying that so far this is the kind of buying experience I would expect of a Lexus or BMW establishment! I have been to many dealerships of all types and the conversation I had with Dave compares favorably.

Thanks again!

After shopping on the East coast for a month, I finally pulled the trigger on a 2010 4.6 with Tech package on Ebay Today ( Shawnee Mission Hyundai in Kansas). Will be flying out on Friday and Driving back approximately 16-18 hours according to map quest. Couldn't wait for them to hit the East coast and got a good deal

Congratulations! That sounds like a nice honeymoon you are going to have with your new Genesis. Be sure to download the DIS and Owners Manuals in PDF form and study them on your flight :) that way you can get in your new car, program your destination, put on some XM, and drive. What color and interior combo did you get?

Went crazy looking for the saddle interior and a light exterior color but..........bit the bullet and bought Black !!!!!!!!!!!! (with no garage?!) Should have invested in a car wash. Was surprised that I paid less than 40K and added on extended bumper to bumper warranty... Thanks for the idea about the manuals!

Don't you understand the first rule of salesmanship? If they don't have one in stock (already sold out) tell the customer that it is no longer made or they cannot get one yet. They don't want you going somewhere else just because they are out of stock (or if they haven't ordered any from the distributor). The few 2010's that are available have gone pretty fast (for obvious reasons), and most importantly many dealers have a lot of 2009's they need to get rid of before they start placing large orders for the 2010 sedans.

That wasn't really necessary, was it? The question was asked in good faith.

I happen to agree with Mark_888 on this one. Most dealers in the Houston area leaves a lot to be desired. They will straight up lie to you:mad:

Matt Z, how was the drive? How was the dealership?

Drive was about 18 hours.....It was fine until I hit the torrential downpour on the PA Turnpike. Real bad visibility and the hydroplaning was intense until I passed Harrisburg. Not sure if it was the Dunlops or the road. The Dealer was okay but they always lie. The badge switch they agreed to was not done and I receiver them today, a week later. Absolutely love this car!! This may be the best of the 47 vehicles I've owned over my lifetime!

Sounds awesome. On the hydroplaning, I was just talking to a co-worker today who bought the 2009 3.8 Genesis and he stated he would probably not drive the car in the snow because it seems to slip on just wet leaves, so I am slightly worried going from a front wheel drive car to a rear-wheel drive car right before winter. I have been watching this forum since last February though and saw a lot of posts that snow wasn't really a problem.

Thanks for the update on your new Genesis!

I did just make the same move from fwd to rwd. This is a 4.6 so it is heavier but I do believe that the problem is more of a tire issue than anything else. Since I'm not about to bag these tires and spend $800, I'll wait and replace them with better rubber when they wear out. There will always be some hydroplaning issue with wider tires (more contact with road surface) but I can't understand why fwd or rwd would make a difference with this issue

I think it's that the weight of the engine over the front axle that helps the car with traction in a front wheel drive car.

I'm not saying it's better or worse than rear-wheel drive, but it is different.

That is correct. Many, many years ago when I was in college, I had VW Beetle. Rear-engine/RWD. That car would go anywhere.

I just made the switch from FWD Acura TL to the RWD Genesis. Love the car, but yes, there is a noticeable difference on FWD vs RWD. I have a steep driveway, now covered with wet leaves and pine needles, and the RWD definitely breaks into a spin much easier than the FWD. Pros and cons to RWD, but in this case I know I will be more careful in snow, with the "push" of RWD unfamiliar to me vs the "pull" of FWD.
