  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Where are the So Cal Gennys?

You must have left before I bought my R-Spec (last Thursday). :D I don't see very many here in San Diego. I agree with what the other person said about the status of the vehicles. People here would rather get a used BMW or Mercedes than spend the same money on a better Genesis. Crazy. People will learn soon though, then the price of these cars will be as much as those they are competing against.

Welcome to the RSpec club! I have the first San Diego RSpec ( as I purchased from Kansas and had shipped a month before San Diego dealers had any; the local dealers had horrible customer service). I don't see any RSpecs here but I usually see one to two Gennys' per week. I will be looking out for you.

Cheers
Newman

I just purchased me a Genesis today. Don't really see all that many on the streets in my area.

Any Genesis is a rare sight for sure in the Cincinnati area but then again; do you really want to be like everyone else? I remember growing up in So Cal in the late 80's early 90's every one had a 5.0 Mustang with Flow Masters on them. You could stand on the corner and hear them howling out in the night like wolves on the prowl. Now I wanted a 5.0 but not a Stang. I had a 84 T-Bird with the 5.0 in it and Walker exhaust! Not a lot of them around. Sleeper deluxe and a good looker to boot.

I view the Genesis like I did my Bird. Not what everyone wants or has but nice enough and fast enough to hold its own with most of the other cars in her class. A sleeper at a fraction of the price of the others! :-)

Sleeper? I had a 64 Chevy Impala, 327, 365 horse, 4:11 gear, 4 spd, painted primer gray by hand.

Built by a boy genius I went to school with. Paid $50 for it.

Blew away everything I faced in a straight line.

Want to talk about sleepers.

'63 long bed step side truck. 3 different colors of primer and rust.

383 stroker SBC w/ B&M 144 supercharger. 600HP/600TQ. 4:11 posi. Motor all fit under the hood. Would smoke the tires in just about every gear. But when you hit it just right and it hooked up, it would pull the front wheels in the air at 30 MPH. Supprised a lot of muscle cars and bikes when I left them at the line. :)

Scared a Rousch and a Saleen mustang one day on the road when I pulled the front end up as I went buy them. They got in front of me at the next light and we were all turning left. They took up both lanes and wouldn't go over 25 as they were scared I'd leave them. I just turned and went home with a smile on my face.

That's why I like my R Spec so much, it's a sleeper as well. :)

Where are the SO CA Gennys??????
I too just spent two weeks in the San Diego/San Clemente/San Marcos areas and I saw three Gennys. What gives?????

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I'm in Fullerton and work in Glendale so you'll see me on the 5 north and south everyday!!! Look for the Anaheim Ducks sticker on the back and 3000k fog lights :D been noticing there are more 2012 than 2009 & 2010 driving around

I am in Denver and moving to San Dimas in October, so you will see mine cruising around.

Took the R Spec down to Disney land on Thursady, back home on Friday. I only saw one Genny on the 101 north near downtown on Friday, a white one that looked to be recently purchased.

The sad part was the dealer put a PHHyundai.com sticker on the trunk above the genessis badge. Punta Hills Hyundai I think.

Purchased my genny about two weeks ago. In the Gardena area, approx 5 miles from LAX and I keep looking for other gennies. Don't seem to see many at all. I (we) love our genny. Gave up a caddie dts and don't regret it.:)

I had a woman ask me how much I had paid for my Bentley!!!
Needless to say, I was cracking up laughing on the inside, as I was explaining to her, it was a Genesis and not a Bentley.

I had a person back in 89' say "wow never saw a lotus before"

Some of the Isuzu cars had "handling by lotus" and badges to boot.

happens !

Drove the Genney down to Escondido Friday night to visit the inlaws. 101-405-5. Didn't see another Geney on the road.

Met up with bradyb on Sunday to chat and check out his studio. His car sounds sweet with the Borla prototype exhaust..

Drove back home Sunday afternoon, 15-91-215-134-101, still didn't see any Genney's

A black R-Spec (wing badges) showed up in the parking lot of my local supermarket (north San Diego) last evening. I resisted the urge to put a note on their windshield indicating that the quota of R-Specs in the neighborhood had already been met...

I'm in Newport Beach, work in Irvine
I see a lots of Gennys every day. Once I parked my car, went to get lunch, and when came back there was another white Genny 4.6 parked near mine :) Looked funny

Yep...I debadged except the wings and no license plate yet so it looks clean! I had bunch of people saying what kind of bentley it was...or when they see the front they think its a benz....and today while going to work i was stopped at the red light...a giant trash truck was stopped next to me and said if that was the new genesis..and i said yea! and he gave me the 2 thumbs up! haha

I always see in my mirror people staring at the wing badge to see what kind of car it is on the driveway

Wife and I were headed North on the 101 coming back from Northridge area. I saw a black Genney on the 101 around T.O. It didn't have tags so it was either a new buy or they were on a test drive. I didn't catch up to them as they were moving a bit faster than me and the "Boss" was in the car with me. Not and R Spec though.

In north OC, i see about 8 genny's a day and roughly 2-4 Equus a day

but Fullerton/La Mirada/Buena Park is heavily populated by koreans....so i guess i see more here than other parts of southern cali

When I was on vaca in Cali I didn't see any....

Here is S.FL, they are everywhere. I spoke to the dealership about the amount and quality of the used inventory...said the snowbirds love them...great price point, great car, and they only drive them 6 months a year and don't want to pay Lexus prices. There were a lot leased in 09 that are now coming off lease. Can basically pick up a Certified Geny for a private party or better price. Bought my 09 Tech V8 for 22K with 21k miles.
