If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. Can someone please tell me where I can purchase a MSA X pipe and the cat deletes. Thanks in advance

I live in the same town as MSA, called them and they no longer stock/manufacture them.

Give them a call, if they get enough calls they may reconsider.

Just went online web site and they have cat deletes in stock $109.99. Can also call @ 501-327-mods. Got mine a few months ago. Easy install and work great. Can see the inside restrictions when you take off 2nd cats. Didn't inquire about X pipe.

I have an unused set for sale, $100 plus shipping.

Id like just the X-pipe for my 4.6 but I dont want my luxury sedan to sound like a a Mustang GT. Will the X-pipe and Cat-Delete change the sound dramatically? I'd like a good HP gain but with a "mellow" exhaust sound. Is that possible with the 4.6 or 5.0 or am I better off leaving it stock and just do BTR ECU w/ Intake? I've looked hard for a YouTube video of a Genesis 4.6 with just an intake accelerating from idle to redline or even 0-60. Please share if you have one. How much is X-pipe and what exactly does this do for gains on our cars? Thx for your help. Im new to V8's and am trying to tread lightly making decisions on modding this car.

Des,

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
I have the MSA X pipe plus there Secondary Cat deletes. I also deleted my mufflers. Its extremely loud lol but I love it. I have a sound clip on my instagram. blk_stg

I actually gutted my secondary cats over the weekend. It's super easy and most importantly it's free! Haha haven't noticed much diff in performance but I know enough to know that it is doing better gutted then not. Was hoping for some sound but it's still as quite as stock. I'm gonna have to throw some mufflers on to get the sound I want I guess.

I have had the cat deletes on three Genesis and now on an Equus. Can attest that with just the cat deletes there is no material increase in exhaust sound. Basically, you will not know the difference.

It seems that MSA is no longer making cat deletes.
Did a few measurements and it turns out that the secondary cats on the 5.0 are the same length as the secondary's on the 3.8 coupe (10.4ish")
That being said, test pipes (secondary cat deletes) are plentiful, Just order a set for the V-6 coupe..

Update to this, I picked up a set of delete pipes for a V-6 coupe from a company called CNT. They are the exact same length and flange setup as the secondaries on the 5.0

Okay awesome thanks. I was able to get in contact with MSA before they stopped selling. If I new the v6 version worked I would have saved a lot of money lol

Mine are now installed as well as a new Magnaflow exhaust. The car sounds great and feels much more responsive. I will be taking it back to the dyno soon.

Mind providing a youtube video? & Breakdown of what exactly you did with the exhaust? Thanks

Here's a link to a short video that I shot on my drive home from work the other night in an attempt to display how the exhaust sounds from inside the care.

I have the Magnaflow #15059 which fits the 1G with 5.0 motor and a set of test pipes/secondary cat deletes that I bought from CNT Racing (google them).

Below are a few of pics of the stock exhaust, and a few crappy shots of the underside of the car with the Magnaflow setup installed.
As far as installation, unbolt the factory exhaust from the forward bolts of the secondary cats and remove the whole thing. Install the test pipes and Magnaflow and you're done.

Install took me about 2 hours start to finish with hand tools.

Thank you so much for providing all the info. I was hoping to do something without having to buy an entire cat back exhaust. My plan is to go to exhaust shop and ask them to install magnaflow muffler and fabricate test pipe. Just wanted to see if this would work.

If you're going that route, I would make sure that the shop will use stainless steel instead of the crappy aluminized steel that most places like to use, especially with you being in a snowbelt state. I would also recommend getting an X pipe installed after the test pipes. Most of the factory exhaust piping is right around 2.5" diam. but there are a few places where it necks down or is crimped for clearance.
That all being said, hopefully you can find a shop that will do the test pipes. Most "normal" exhaust places won't remove functional cats, even if they're secondaries or non monitored. Your best bet is to find a performance shop. Good luck!

Hey Paul, again greatly appreciate your help here. How much did it cost for the cat back exhaust, straight pipe and install?

I paid about $950 for the exhaust and $150 for the test pipes. The setup is a bit expensive, but it's pretty close to what I was quoted from 2 different performance shops in the area to do a custom 2.5" in stainless from the downpipes back with an X pipe.

I did the install myself in my garage and it took me about 2 hours start to finish with hand tools.

If you do happen to order the catback setup, be patient. No one, and I mean no one has them in stock since practically no one modifies these cars for some reason.. If you order it, it will be made to order by MagnaFlow, so you're looking at a minimum of 3 weeks before it's in your hands.
