  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey All,

I'm looking for KDM wings for my wheels and trunk of my 2012 R-Sepc. I've looked on ebay and Korean auto imports but I have no idea which ones are the correct ones to buy. It appears that they are different colors depending on where I look and I have also heard that a lot of people buy the wrong ones for the wheels.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks!

Both the hood and trunk wings are "official" KDM (Korean Domestic Market) parts that come as standard on Genesis in Korea. But they may vary slightly depending on model year. Sometimes they look different depending on the lighting. Just verify the model year with the vendor.

For the airbag, there is a stick-on aftermarket wing, unless you replace the entire airbag assembly. For wheels, some are official and some are after-market depending on which model year and trim level you have. For wing on the R-Spec wheels, you need to get the ones for the 17" wheels that come with Base Trim Genesis.

Here is a link for the hood and trunk wings (although most people only put on the trunk one).

Here is link for the wheel caps:

These are example links only, and is not an endorsement of any particular vendor.

So I don't get the wings for the 19" wheels?

^ what he said

I ordered from them and I noticed my stuff took a long time to get here.
when it did arrive, it was placed in a large envelope by the postal service that had a post office apology on it. The post office had damaged the wings so bad the chrome was missing.

although it was not the shipper's fault, he replaced it for me.

I would happily do business with them again, in fact I plan to when i replace my airbag

The wheel wings are the same for the 17" and 19", not that the 17" just FIT, they're the same.

The wings for 18" wheels are very different, so do not get those.

Also, check around on eBay. The prices can vary a ton. (IF you decide to buy on eBay)

Purchased all of mine on eBay.
Even SFR who also happens to be a seller on eBay is one of the few US sellers with fast shipping. On the contrary, his ROK counterparts just take forever to get here.

Can you get the one for the steering wheel sfrusa too? Anyone every replaced that one. When I looked at it, it looks like the "h" in embedded into the wheel so I wasn't sure if that can be changed.

The Wings go on top of the "H" . Do not try to remove the 'H" from the steering wheel. The wings attach on top of the steering wheel H with 3M double sided automotive tape provided.

Here is photo of mine.

Sweet. I'm glad I asked.

There are hundreds (maybe thousands) of posts on this forum on the subject of KDM wings, etc. Some include videos. You can find them with google search engine or maybe the forum search function.

Do not use the extra tape that is shipped with it. It will make things too thick. There is already tape on the back of the emblem. Just use that.
