  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

I don't really think Hyundai over the long run will be pumping out Ultra luxury models to the masses like Benz/BMW but I could be wrong. For right now, their bread and butter is the Sonata and Tuscon and possibly the Santa Fe.

Don't forget the Elantra (the next gen Elantra will be a HUGE seller).

Hyundai's luxury models (sedans) likely won't ever approach Benz/BMW sales, even if sold under a lux nameplate.

However, there's a good chance that the next-gen Genesis will outsell the Infiniti M and Lexus GS; but the real volume "lux" model would be the smaller sedan which is currently undergoing development.

As for the Equus and Genesis...

the Equus has better shaped/styled headlights and lower air dam, while the Genesis has a better greenhouse/C-pillar and rear/taillights.

While some may find the Genesis' waterfall/klingon grill weird, I kinda prefer it over the Equus' more traditional horizontal-slatted grill since it is more distinctive.

So overall - edge to Genesis.

I tried to get a more "balanced" look to the grill by adding chrome to the lower grill. Comments?

Equus would be my pick, except I'm not willing to pay that price for any car. Dealers or rather Hyundai would be smart to have one on dealers lot thats loaded just for test driving purposes. I dont see anyone buying these cars w/o a long test drive. Hyundai dealer should have a loaded genesis sedan and coupe on hand for test driving also. This is the way you sell luxury cars. Most people paying 50k or better will not like to see very many miles on the car. This will also allow the dealers to be less chicken shit by allowing folks to take a real test drive instead of the saleman being scare and other people seeing this car on the street or at mall.

I read this yesterday and had to think about it for a while, and still don't have one single pick. I like the Genesis for the look, and I like that it has a little more get-up-and-go than the Equus along with a sportier ride. BUT, I like the Equus for the slightly higher level of luxury, the smoother ride, a little more room.

I'll take one of each please for when my moods shift.
