  • Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "I need help with my car" could be about anything and can easily be overlooked by people who can help. However, "I need help with my transmission" will draw interest from people who can help with a transmission specific issue. Be as descriptive as you can. Please also post in the appropriate forum. The "Lounge" is for introducing yourself. If you need help with your G70, please post in the G70 section - and so on... This message can be closed by clicking the X in the top right corner.

Hey guys,

I'm looking into both the GTS Black and the JB4 fr my Genesis G80 Sport. I've read some feedback on the GTS Black system, but I'm curious if anyone has used the JB4 or even hear from others who have used the GTS as well. Have any of you changed the plugs, or performed the gap as JB4 recommends? Secondly this isn't something that would effect the warranty of uninstalled for regular maintenance would it?

I've been waiting on the answer to your questions and haven't seen the answer yet. Will the add on hurt my warranty?

Looking to update and upgrade your Genesis luxury sport automobile? Look no further than right here in our own forum store - where orders are shipped immediately!
Of course it will hurt your warranty. Stay stock or lose out on any warranty claims you may have later if you mess with the engine/powertrain.

No, it's not detectable by the dealer, if you remove the unit before your services. When you do, it just reverts back to the original ECU and Tune. This is not a ECU Flash tune. ECU Flash tunes show up on the ECU flash counter. A piggy back tuner modifies the signal after the ECU and does not effect the original ECU OEM Factory Tune.

Your safe, don't be concerned.

You can definitely remove it before you take it to the dealer, but from install videos I've seen the wires for hook up so would they not see the other wire hook ups which I suppose you have to remove as well? Does that take long to remove the wires from experience?

I didn't installed my JB4 myself in my G80 sport, my friend did all for me, but as far as I know and I see, there are only two connectors to unplug.
Look at the pictures....you can barely see the JB4 box hidden behind the fuse box and those wires looks like OEM installed. I bet you wouldn't see them if I didn't marked them, lol
Yep, you can take it off within 5 min.

Excellent share! Are you feeling a different in your JB4? What map are you using? I recently did some exhaust work & CAI. The jb4 was my next purchase.

I run Map2 with 93 octane gas pump, no need to push more. Do I feel the difference? ~430hp/520 pound of torque now and 0-60 - 4.7sec. the hell I am! :alright:

I would go Lap3 Pro-Tuner if you want a Piggy Pack. Some dude just blew his engine in his Stinger and he had the JB4 on it. LMAO Good luck with your choice.

Would you be kind enough to share the story/video? A quick google search didn't land me much luck. I would love to read up on this.

Yeah, I am at work now but will post a link later today to a facebook post. The owner deleted all his stuff online because he is trying to warranty it out.

Edit: His name is Nick Martinez and he drives a black GT. If you have Facebook join Korean Automotive Tuning Association (KATA) and you will see the post about his car.

Are you sure it wasn't his own fault? :whistling:

Lap3, it's manufactured in Germany not by Lap3. Wouldn't trust it, ever. I believe that's definitely the case here.:whistling::hillarious:

Hey dareckibmw,

I was reading that before running map2 on the jb4 it's best to run the tank near empty and then do a full fill-up to 93 octane, if running anything lower grade. Can you chime in on this and let us know what your thoughts are? Btw thanks for posting your Dyno and pics, love seeing the results. Did you notice a substantial difference between map 1 and map 2 btw?

I would run 93 regardless if I were you. I noticed some sluggish tendencies when I test drove the 19 using crap gas compared to my 18 with 93. Maybe its just me but ill always give the highest available in my area (93 here)

I ran on Map 1 for about 10-15 min. then switched to Map 2 and I never looked back. No reason to "downgrade" since I only use 93 octane, nothing else.

Thanks for the reply guys, map 2 on 93 is something I'm looking forward to running!

I have the 2018 G80 sport. Use one 93 octane. I bought the jb4 a month ago. It takes 5 min to install along with the fuel wires. Very easy to remove also. If you are interested in the video, hit me up on FB. My name is scott Evans. Picture of a dog and my son for my profile. I will send you the video on messenger
