Which Wheels Should I Get?

I've been looking for a set of reasonably priced aftermarket alloy wheels for my Genesis for summer use. I can't wait to ditch the crappy OEM Dunlops for some better rubber, and figured since I'm already planning to get new tires I might as well look into getting some nicer looking/slightly larger wheels too.

Generally speaking, I prefer BBS-style multispoke rims, but I'm open to other suggestions. Nothing too gaudy, chintzy, or expensive please. I'm looking to spend under $2000 total for wheels and tires.

Option #1: 19" ASA GT1

Option #2: 19" Konig Lace

Option #3: 19" TSW Donington

for me i would choose the last one.. it looks very nice.. but everything is subjective.. go with whatever your leaning towards..

Everyone has different taste, but I was glad to see that the majority of those voting chose to keep the present wheels and upgrade the tires. I have a 4.6 with Tech Package and I think that the wheels furnished with that are better looking than any that I have seen on the forum. I think they are the best looking wheels I have ever owned and I have owned a few.

The only reason I would swap rims is to change size... if you are keeping the size 18" , stay with the stock rims and buy good tread

Yes, but there is a VERY good chance I'll keep it after the lease is up or lease another Genesis if the 2011/12 is significantly improved. If by some chance I ditch the Genesis for something else I can always sell them on ebay and make up maybe 50% of the cost (provided I don't curb one of the wheels). This is another reason why I'm not looking at expensive wheels.

Good point...sorry for not clarifying in my original post. These are all 19" wheels.

Just a comment...based on what I've read, the general industry consensus is that 18" wheels provide about the best combination of ride and handling for most quality passenger cars. Above that, the ride starts to deteriorate quickly, in exchange for more responsive handling. Also, the likelihood of wheel damage starts to go way up...just biffing the curb will cut the tire and maybe bend the wheel. I'd think carefully about how I drive my car, and what I'm willing to give up to get the look I want.

Also, consider the wheel/tire weight carefully, and go for something similar in mass to the factory setup. These cars have enough ride anomolies as it is, and dramatically changing the rotating mass at the wheels is going to give you, at best, unpredicatable results...

P.S. I like the first pic the best, the Asa...it has the most visual lightness. The Donnington that received several votes looks too heavy (visually) for my taste.

What tires do y'all think are best replacements for the Dunlops? Does there seem to be a consensus on what the replacement for the factory tire ought to be for the typical driver?
