2009 Genesis 4.6 with 125k on it. 3rd owner. After driving 16k miles, she will not start? She turns over? Towed my car to the mechanic, he indicated I needed; 1 Ignition coil, 8 spark plugs, 1 crankshaft sensor, and 2 H2o sensors. I found out she has front and rear, left and right, H20 sensors? that's 4? The Mechanic did not indicate which ones? I ordered the parts online.
Towed the car home. Now two OBDII readers indicate there is no communication? I read somewhere else that if my cigarette lighter is not working, the OBDII may not communicate? Can't locate the Cigarette fuse? Is this really my issue to get codes? Will the OBDII give codes if the car is not running?
When my AC quit blowing cold, this same mechanic said he could not fix it? I fixed the AC my self $75. Another mechanic said $600 with no guarantee? An ac expansion was all that was needed. They are very easy to do. DIY nation. The valve was $13 and the home recharge AC kit was $45 at a local auto supply shop. Done deal. Savings $400 and a big confidence boost to work on my own car.
