Hello everyone.

Last year I had the tire shop switch my tires between my all seasons and my winter tires. I feel like paying 50-80 dollars each time for mounting and remounting could be a waste.

I want to buy a second set of oem wheels to fit my blizzaks.

Most ebay wheels have no tpms sensors. What happens if the sensors or not installed? Just the yellow warning light? Does it flash that all four tires having an issue on the center lcd? Is it possible to disable TPMS with pulling a fuse? I only need winter tires November-March usually..so I hate to spend a lot of money for new sensors.

Did we ever find out if they have to be recalibrated at the dealers if you have two sets of tires with different tpms sensors?

I have searched quite a bit on the forum, but haven't found concrete answers.

Thanks and take care,

Bob

Good questions Bobby. I have set of winter wheels from tire rack that do not have TPMS sensors. When installed on the car, the only light or warning that comes on is the TPMS light. It just stays solid. nothing on the center LCD is showing a warning or problem. I haven't tried to pull the fuse for the TPMS system. The light doesn't bother me that much since it's solid and not blinking. I'm guessing if you get a set of OEM TPMS sensors for your winter wheels, you shouldn't have any issues and probably no need to calibrate between the summer and winter set since both sets of wheels would have OEM sensors.

Hope this helps,

Carl

I am now the proud owner of a set of V8 wheels... Ebay for $500 shipped. heck of a deal.

I am not going to... In the winter time, I will not have tpms sensors. From the sound of it, I will just have the TPMS light on. I am OK with that for the 4 months I will need winter tires.

Bob, do you think the TPMS system will be as new once you remount the summer tires (and pull the black tape off the idiot light)?

I am under the assumption that once my summer wheels and tires are put on with the sensors that it will be back to normal. If this is not the case, someone please speak up.... Last year I just had winter tires mounted to my regular wheels - so this is all new to me this year.

Thanks!

Bob
